Disagreed. Fans and public still love it and still always get ranked as one of best superhero movies. Any hate for it is minority. There is no polarizing.
Yeah, these films made a huge impact with audiences, and in some ways are more respected and looked at as classics today then when they were released. Been long enough that nostalgia is kicking in now with kids who grew up watching it as their first superhero film.

There are still kids who love and watch them as well, my Nephews who are 5 and 7 watch them all the time.
We'll agree to disagree. I think there is a greater schism between the critical and GA reaction to SM2 then any other critically praised CBM.
There are CBM's that didn't get the critical praise that SM2 received yet have gotten higher audience ratings at various sites, hell last time I checked, MOS had the same IMDB rating as SM2.....Sad but true.
I really like the film and have acknowledged the great bits in it, I'm just giving my perspective on what I've experienced over the years.

Definitely, my younger family members watch them quite often too. It's gonna take a few gigantic Spidey hits with Marvel to knock it out of it's place as the go to Spidey films. The first two Raimi films just have extremely high credibility as well as a huge audience.Agreed. I think Raimi Spider-Man movies are timeless and will keep grow with appreciation as years go on more.
IMDB not useful site for things like that. Like Man of steel movie have higher score there than first two of Christopher Reeve Superman movies and they a lot more popular than Man of Steel. Kick Ass have higher score than ones like X-Men 2 but X-Men 2 more popular. Kick ass have same score as Winter soldier movie but Winter soldier more popular than Kick ass is. There lots of examples where their scores not show reality of popularity on movies.
If you like to agree to disagree then that ok with me.

I understand your point about IMDB and sample size, but there are actually things on the site I agree with as much as disagree. If we are using these various sites to help gauge the perception of a film in a broader
context, then I don't think it can be so easily dismissed. Transformers is popular, but I doubt every fan of that franchise thinks it's great cinema.
The biggest thing I took away was the 7.3 for SM2?? I guess you could brush it off.
Oddly enough, the movies rating plummeted about .5 points right when the ASM movies were coming out. Fanboys of that series attacked it.
Spider-Man 2 was actually in the Top 250 back in the day.
I would say Days of Future Past is the most polarizing of the 'great' CBMs. There is a significant fan backlash to that film, far larger than with SM2.

And this is a good example of why IMDB isn't reliable. Too many trolls voting repeatedly with no filter on them.
Disagreed. lol all young females not act that way. How many females you know? They must be ten years old lol.
It's an exaggeration. But you would be surprised at how dumb some girls (and guys... So don't pull the sexism card out) can be at my age...How many females have you interacted with?
Hmm, seems we can't really trust any of these things.
I think alot of films allow to have a decent gauge, but there's definitely a few in there where the numbers are just too strange. Most blockbusters are lucky to have 1-2 million member ratings. I have no idea where those other 30 million members could have came from.
Maybe there was a small list of films people had to rate when signing up or something.
I find that the best is the Rotten Tomatoes critic scores. Most of the opinions from critics seem to accurately reflect the popularity from the masses. It isn't perfect and they are clear exceptions like most Michael Bay movies, but it is the best we've got.

As long you're not romantically interested in eachother and both know it it isn't. It's just a friend thing. Peter was asking her to eat because he was romantically interested in her and they both knew it.Agreed. I am going to cinema and then KFC with lady friend next week but we are not seeing it as date lol. We just good friends. We do things like that all time. Everyone who has girls as friends does.

God bless you! God bless everyone in your life!
