I love Christina Hendricks but she would have been way too curvy. I don't get where people are saying that Emma is curvy. In most of her appearances she's always been on the slim/slender side:

I thought she did great. She was, to me, how i thought Emma Frost would be in real life - cold, aloof, and very beautiful. To get the exact comic book artwork would require some horrid porn star packed with silicone. She looked like Frost, she acted like Frost.

I don't recall a single damn comic where Emma just seemed by bored by her entire presence in living. January Jones seemed to look at the role as just a paycheck because put not effort into the role at all and was just nothing like Emma Frost in the slightest, which is a shame because the writing for the character is very Emma. She just can't act the role.

I say kick her to the curb in the sequel and recast her.

I loved her look both diamond and normal. Jones is just a very beautiful woman and Vaughn did a superb job filming her. Her diamond form was pretty fantastic too.

But I kinda agree with Billy in that she's just a bad actress. However, I didn't really hate her portrayal. But then again, I've never been an Emma fan.

The diamond fx looked fantastic in the movie! Loved the subtle sound effect whenever she moved and spoke too.

This Emma Frost is not the version we're used to, that being said, I enjoyed every second of January Jones in the movie, she looked perfect, and she did exactly the role the writers made for her, they didn't create a power-hungry sarcastic Emma Frost, they wrote a submissive ditzy 60's sidekick that fetches ice, and that is treated basically like a pet when she hurts other mutants when she's not ordered, she did that perfectly, and I really loved each and every one of her appearances.

They basically went back to the early versions of Frost for this one, not the current one that's a major player in the universe and in every other book.

I'm surprised so many are complaining about her physique for the role. Her acting left a lot to be desired, but physically she is probably one of the closest ever to come to the "comic book ideal" that unrealistically (and arguably misogynistic) drawing of women in comics.

When you compare the huge differential in other comics and screen versions of characters, i thought Emma came very close. And I thought her cold, aloof persona was very Emma. With this being the tale of Xavier, Magneto and Mystique, i think her presence in the movie was fine. I'd expect more next time, now we have the origins of those three key characters out of the way.

Even if you argue she fit Emma in the way she was used in this film, I can't imagine her playing any expanded roles in the sequels. And I'd hate for such a mediocre actress to drag the character down.

Three pictures, and she's making the same dead, void, pointless face in all three. Pretty much sums up her acting abilities. She may be the worst actress in a major role in the whole series.

Looks fine to me. She is supposed to look cold and aloof and unemotional. It just screams Emma Frost, in my view anyway.
