The Dark Knight Rises The Official Jim Gordon / Gary Oldman Thread

Oldman was born to play the role and who else thinks he looks like live-action Ned Flanders?

Okaley-dokaley-do!!

^ Now I'll be thinking of Flanders whenever I see Gordon in TDKR. :(

It's almost unthinkable for me to think of any other actor as Gordon besides Oldman. However, if I had to pick someone, it'd be Bryan Cranston (Walt from Breaking Bad). He'd be perfect.

Good choice.

Heck, after the end of the episode 'Crawl Space' I'd give him a shot at The Joker too were he younger... that scene was so remiscent of 'The Man who Laughs' it was eerie.

Am I the only one who was disappointed by Cranston in Year One?
It was a very flat performance.

That movie was done poorly, in my opinion. It tried to follow the comic frame-for-frame and left no room for any sort of emotion.

Gary Oldman can play Batman, Alfred & Lucius. You wouldn't even notice.

Wow, I didn't even know Bryan Cranston did the voice of Jim in the animated year one. As I say though, he would be much more well suited for a live action series.

He had to read Frank Miller dialogue... so thats the problem right there.

Poor guy. :csad:

Yeah, I'm sure it was no accident. He looks and sounds great with a moustache... :p

Gary Oldman absolutly owns the roll of Gordon. He is the perfect actor for the roll!!!!

You can go ahead and add Oldman to the list of Academy Award nominees in this franchise :awesome::up:.

Wonderful news for him, really deserving and not a decade too early!

Congrats Gary Oldman for getting a oscar nom!:awesome: He deserved it.

Too bad Michael Fassbender didn't get an Oscar nom for Shame. I think the NC-17 rating + the content of the film didnt go so well with the academy board.

Very much deserved and long overdue. Wait til' we get a load of his TDKR performance.

Go Gary, go!

Oscar noms were disappointingly predictable this year, his nomination aside.
