They need to do Lex like they had him in "Superman: Doomsday" or the Superman Animated Series of the 90s. A lot like they've done the mob bosses in the two Batman films, only without the overt criminality. They need Lex to be a bad guy, working against Superman, but from behind the curtain. He needs to be the Wizard of Oz, so to speak. His involvement must be suspect, but unproven. It's the only way Luthor truly works.
