You can suspend belief to a certain degree. But having clark and lex be good friends and then have lex and superman confrontations without lex figuring it out is stretching it. Lex is the smartest man but he can't figure out his best friend from smallville is superman?!

At least in smallville they address things from a different standpoint b/c there is no superman. Clark secretly does stuff that no one is aware of but lex did suspected him. Now that he's the blur lex isnt around. You even get around the lois/clark/superman angle with lois having a crush on the blur who she's never seen.

Now how everything plays out once superman shows up...no idea. But you'd asume they'd all recognize him. It's hard to play superman for modern times without addressing some of this but you can simply avoid it with Lex and Clark if they don't have any type of friendship and miminal if any interaction.

Ew Billy Zane looks like a cheap TV actor, and that ship has already sailed. I'm tired of seeing his name, he most likely will never be cast. For the reboot I can see a pretty big name actor being cast. Billy Zane was barely famous ten years ago, and I can't recall the last movie I saw him in.

yea with smallville have have put themselfs into a corner with how does clark go public as superman and how folks wont know it is clark. But back to lex i still wouldnt see issue if they did want lex/clark to have met/known each other prior to metropolis if they handled it as lex in early 20s maybe was there in town for science/business plans. And ran into clark who could be wearing glasses already due to his powers starting up and all that. And only met him once or twice. So then 15 or so years later. Clark would remember his name and that he met him as a youth. But lex wouldnt really remember clark at all.

i dont know right now, it all about what they want to do with lex and clark in plot of film.

i like the idea of them bein close friends. im sure there's way they can do it without lex easily figuring out who clark really is.

I mean, how hard would it be for Clark start wearing glasses? I`m pretty sure Lois is going to know his identity from the get go and will help him become Superman.

i thought they were gonna make him where them in that one episode where he tells lois "turns out, im a little near sited." then she pushes the book in front of him stands on top of it and kisses him. i thought we would get to see him wearing the glasses from that point on.

yea it would have been nice for that but the whole sv and glasses thing has been a bad point for the show. my prefrence is he should have worn glasses full time since season 3 episode whisper where he was temporary blinded.

But back to the topic at hand which is lex. I want to see the business/political lex. You can say he is smart and an inventor i wouldnt mind that. As for the character i would like to see him around mid 30s/early 40s. With lois and clark being late 20s.

I could live with Wentworth Miller. He's already played the brilliant mind on Prison Break too. After seeing Sherlock Holmes I thought Mark Strong would make a convincing Lex but seeing as he's been considered for Sinestro... :P

Really though, I am getting tired of Zane coming up as a suggestion. I'd rather have a Lex who's close in age to Superman, like in the comics and cartoons.

Yeah leave Billy Zane in the past. Time to move on. I too am for Clark and Lex to be closer in terms of age but not as former best friends though.

With Nolan possibly producing....they will get a better actor to play Lex than Zane....without a doubt.

Daniel Day Lewis or Viggo Mortensen would be perfect IMO as Lex corrupt businessman and head of LexCorp.

i would like at least about 8 yrs difference on lex and clark so lex being a bit more older/mature then clark. say like if clark is like 28 for first film lex to be 36/mid 30s.
