I like George Clooney, I think he's a fine actor. But to be honest, I'd rather that this Superman film doesn't go the 90s Batman series route of casting huge headline stars like George Clooney or even Nicholas Cage, but instead goes the Nolan Batman series route of casting recognisable character actors.

I agree. But hopefully, by the time the movie comes out we'll walk out of the cinema going 'So glad it wasn't Hardy, cause ... was perfect!'

Wilson, who's also been suggested for Supes, could actually do great for this part as well imo. He kinda looks like Hardy above if you shave him.

Luke Goss was the baddie in Blade 2 and Hellboy 2, wasn't he? Yeah, I could see him more as Brainiac than Lex. I like him though, good actor.

Nice to see some different choices being mentioned.

Goss has a great look for Lex, and he crossed my mind a while back. I don't think I've ever heard him speak with an American accent.

I always wondered what his name was. He's definitely got that powerful billionaire look. Very dashing too, but with a potential dark-side. As far as looks are concerned he's pretty ideal. I've only seen him in 2 movies, but he pulls off the baddie role very well. I'd be all for it.

He was in Watchmen right? if so then he has connections to the film through Snyder. Not a bad choice.

Goss is a terrific actor and has a very striking and eerie look to him, almost otherworldly.
In Hellboy II he even manages to play a very nuanced and sensitive badguy you feel sympathy for. Possibly perfect for Lex.
Unfortunately Goss' never had a real breakthrough, so he might be overlooked here.

Luke Goss has also a great voice. You want someone that can threaten Superman and mean it.

I'd definitely put my vote up for either Guy Pearce or Luke Goss. They would be perfect for pulling off a moment like when Superman is at Lex's window and Superman promises Lex that the will always be there to take him down.

I don't quite buy him as Lex Luthor, but the more I think about it, the more I love the idea of Luke Goss as Brainiac.

luke goss was damn awesome as Nomak in Blade 2, possibly one of the best villians in a comic book movie. In some scenes, he managed to outshine Snipes!

Luke Goss has come along way since Bros, I thought he was brilliant in Hellboy II infact I think he stole the film. I'd be very happy if he was cast as Lex.
