I think all the rumours shorlists until now were false.

Cavill knew he was chosen at the same day they release the news, january 31st. How can the actress in the short list had tested before february 1st?

They'll probably start casting now.

And a regular movie spend 3 months shooting, so MEW can be free for Superman in June. This is the same "problem" of Wilde.

I think there are 2 stages of the casting. First they audition as many people as possible. Then they compile a shortlist of whom they like best and have them read with Cavill. Now some films that don't rely heavily on chemistry won't even do that, but I think they will with this film. They could easily have their 5-10 favorites and work down from there. When you are on the clock you don't want to mess around. What if they couldn't cast Superman until March or April. You don't want to start your Lois search then.

It's been almost 20 days since Cavill was cast. I think Lois will be cast by the end of this month. Give them another week to get approval and I'm thinking sometime in the next 3 weeks we get an announcement. Also it looks like Wilde's film Kin has been renamed Blackbird and is moving forward. She could be out unless they want her really badly and work around it. If that is the case that leaves us with McAdams, Biel, or Agron as the most likely contenders from the rumored names.

It'd be great if we could all stray from ripping on any female for her looks. In general, they depend on their looks a lot more than men, and much of their self-esteem hinges on their appearance. It's hard-wired into their brains. You could really hurt a woman more than you can imagine by insulting her face, curves, nose, etc.

Ya I don't know what's up with Wilde's situation. I don't think Blackbird is very far along but I think she might be contractually obligated. The problem is Superman requires an actress with a decent resume and these people have no trouble finding work. Wait for one actress and you lose a sure thing. Anything filming in the summer or fall is casting now. They need to lock one down this month.

I'm sure that is what they are working out. The Lois part is rumored to be smaller so it could end up being a 2-3 month shoot instead of 6 or more. However it's business and they sign up to be on the set when the film needs it. Any missed days costs tens of thousands of dollars. These companies don't like to mess around.

I'd think that an actress in serious consideration and who seriously wants the role in return would hold out and take her chances, much like Henry did when he passed up 300 while being considered for 007.

I should make it clear that I'd be ok with Olivia Wilde as Lois. Better choices are out there, but worse choices can be made as well. I don't see how she could be any better than say, Mila Kunis though. Seriously. They are atleast capable of the same performance and Kunis is hotter.

Look, not everyone is going to share your view that Rebbecca Hall is so gorgeous looking.


I never understand the 'too sexy' or 'too gorgeous' thing. So long as the actress doesn't have plumped lips, HUGE breasts, etc. As in so long as she doesn't look too fake looking or over-the-top sex siren it should be fine imo.
But being attractive is an important trait in Lois, as it’s part of her character.

Rebbecca Hall looks too gawky, geeky, homely and plain looking. As I said, Lois doesn’t have to be overly sexy or anything but she needs to have a kind of striking and strong look about her.

Rebbecca Hall does nothing for me as Lois. I have a vision for Lois, and Hall doesn’t cut it.
