Cuthbert...

Why exactly?

Wilde or McAdams are the only names that have been mentioned who are acceptable at this point.

**** The Avengers, I want Smulders! :cmad:

Routh was annnounced in early October, Bosworth was cast in late December '04.

In the 70's they also spent about 2 or 3 months on screentests for Lois. You can find the screentests on youtube.

They need to do at least 3 tests, the actress alone, with Clark and with Superman, because she needs to stand alone as a reporter and has chemistry with Cavill. I'm rooting they choose the right actress, not the most famous or the best friend of someone.

So I'm assuming then that we can expect a possible announcement for the role of Lois sometime in either Late March or Mid April?

I hope Snyder goes about casting Lois like it was revealed that he did for Cavil with Superman.

That would be way too late imo. The longer they wait the more likely they might not get who they want. Anything being filmed for the summer is being cast right now. My guess is by the end of this month we will know who Lois is.

Maybe not, I read somewhere that shooting starts in March, and Superman is schedule to start in August...so he has time for both.

It can actually be good for her, being on the radar...

They've hardly assembled their cast. I can't see them filming in 2 weeks. Given that shoots last 4-6 months there would definitely be a scheduling conflict. But I am happy for MEW. My guess is she wasn't going to get Lois anyways otherwise she would of held out. I like Timur Bekmanbetov though. Great visual director and I really feel MEW's career is on the rise.

I'm still hoping for OW

Ya she is a good choice if they can work out her scheduling. She can pull in both male and female moviegoers. That is a bonus in hollywood. Other people who can do that are Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Will Smith, and Christian Bale to name a few. Obviously she is not A-list or at the caliber of these actors yet.

I've always thought Olivia Wilde would make a good Lois Lane, I saw her for 10 seconds in The Girl Next Door and said it there "hey that chick, if she had black or dark brown hair would make a good Lois" and now 7 years later she's actually someone being considered :)

people must be crazy to think that Olivia Wilde could be a good Lois Lane. and who says she is considered...... rumors y'all

she's one of the most popular up and coming actresses working today, fits the basic mold of Lois Lane, and while her representative denies her rumored involvement with the Tomb Raider reboot, he/she didn't deny her involvement with Superman...

...if anything, you'd be crazy to think that WB and Snyder are not at least considering Wilde for Lois, if not have already spoken to her.

I just hope there's another name being tested that hasn't been reported. Similar to Cavill. I'm not really excited about any of the rumored candidates.

Ah, very interesting, I missed that. It seems like she has a real shot. I've been assuming it's all rumors up until now. Hopefully this means mcadams is in the mix too. But those other girls...

You must be crazy to think Ashley Greene would make a better choice for Lois then Olivia Wilde. Just saying.

She's actually already been cast.

Wilde as already been cast, but it just has not become official yet?

Hmm....she would fit the more modern look they would be going after. Like what a WB exec said about Cavill being cast as Supes.

Just because Olivia Wilde is the "IT GIRL" now doesn't mean she is perfect for Lois now.

So yeah, I think Ashley Green is better for Lois than Olivia Wilde because nobody here have no good reason to rule out Ashley Greene from the running. I mean, she isn't main stream just like Cavill, and I can picture both of them on screen than Olivia and Cavill.
