lol because she's worked with snyder?

rachel is rumored. we haven't heard anything about cornish beyond suggestions in this thread.

Snyder has worked with her on two movies now, and I can't believe that he wouldn't at least think to himself, "Got to find a Lois. What about Abbie as Lois? Hmmm?" Even if she doesn't get the part, she has to have been on his Lois casting radar. Personally I think it's likely that either she is, or was a front runner. I'M going with 'IS'.

I don't think Wilde and Cavill match up.

I don't either, to be honest.

If she wasnt that short i'd give her a chance.

Wilde is too tall and thin, too super model-ish to be Lois in my opinion. She also lacks the spunk that McAdams has in spades. Bell has that as well.

Well my idea of Super-model is a woman with more meat on her bones than Wilde, who as you point out is actually on the thinner side of the she-spectrum. Which is why I don't think she's too hot for the role.

I like McAdams' personality but not her face, at least not for Lois.

But I've just read that McAdams (and Wilde) have met director Doug Liman for his new project, Luna.
Hopefully he'll hire McAdams and take her out of the running.:woot:

I think one of the great things about Olivia Wilde is you instantly get the vibe that she would never like to be stuck in the 'girlfriend' role. You get the feeling she'd always like to be portrayed as a strong woman. To me, the strength of Lois is so important, just as important as the wit and humour.

To me Olivia is a multi-layered actress, alot like Yvonne Strahovski from Chuck. (In fact she kinda reminds me of her.)

An actress who can play a multiple amount of emotions all at once while still putting on a strong appearance and still be totally believeable is important.

Olivia just LOOKS strong. And I don't mean her muscles or anything, I mean her face and presence, I've always found Lois to have a strong presence. She's no weakling.

Lois definitely needs a maturity and sopistication about her, as in the sense that she's more mature and intelligent for her age. And she needs to be naturally witty, which is something the actress herself needs. Since it's those naturally witty actresses who bring out the material the best.

I think Olivia has the capacity to do all of it. I don't know that I've seen much of her comedic acting but I have a feeling she'd be good at some of Lois' sarcastic lines.

^ she is naturally very charismatic and witty go watch some of her interviews

she just has'nt gotten a chance to show it in film

When i said that Wilde is like a supermodel, i didnt mean literally, but she's too thin, too tall and too gorgeous to be Lois. She's too perfect and stunning. She's not the next door girl that wins you over with her charm, whits and spunky personality like Lois is supposed to be.

Not that Lois isnt beautiful, but she's more of a working girl than THE beauty of the office that Wilde would be. Watch Morning Glory and see how McAdams keeps tripping, falling, talking too much, dropping things and running all over the place and coming off as a cute, sassy and very clever girl that's out there to kick butt and make it big. That's Lois.

When you ask the fellas at the office about Lois they should respond with "dont mess with her", or "she's got more balls than superman", "she's a lunatic" rather than "OMFG she's so hot, lets go to the photocopier to peek at her".

Can you seriously imagine Olivia Wilde making spelling errors and asking Smallville how to spell words? She's too perfect for that. Unless of course you re into some other version of Lois. I'm partial to the L&C, BTAS, Smallville one.

See this trailer. It shows a bit of what i'm talking about.

I have a feeling it's between Abbie Cornish and Rachel McAdams...

It could be. Given that she's worked with Synder twice and he has apparently tested his former Watchmen actors for roles such as Goode for Clark and Akerman for Lois , I wouldn't be surprised if Cornish is on the list with established names like McAdams. Even if she doesn't get the big role it wouldn't be a surprise if she ended up filling out another role in the film.

Why do people care so much if an actor/actress has worked with the same director before? Its not like this girl is the protagonist in Sucker Punch. She's just one of the main girls' friends.

Only Nolan and Scorsese are famous for working with the same actors again and again. So far Snyder has only done that with Gugino.

Sorry Earl but girl next door is supposed to be Lana, not Lois. I want Lois to be stunning like Durance and Hatcher. **** Margot Kidder and the chain smoking kind of LL! I dont ever want to see that in any Superman movie. Wilde would be perfect. McAdams to me is too much of a countryside girl, imo. I cant get the image of The Notebook out of my head. LOL

Sam Raimi and Tim Burton do as well as other directors, so it's not uncommon as one may think. Synder worked with Butler twice , Watchmen and 300, Gugino twice Sucker Punch and Watchmen , and Cornish Twice , Legend of the Guardians and Sucker Punch. Synder also had Matthew Goode and Malin Akermann from Watchmen test for the film so it's not out of the realm of possibility that someone Synder worked with before will turn up in Superman or test for a role in the new film.

Lana is supposed to be a next door girl? I dont know a lot about her besides a few issues and Smallville so i always thought she was a stunner.

In any case i never said that Lois shouldnt be beautiful, but i want her to be frantic, whitty, charming, fearless and self ridiculing at times. I cant imagine Wilde asking for a spelling check and if she calls Clark "Smallville" i'm sure she'll come off as snotty and pretentious. Lois is supposed to be cute in her obnoxiousness.

I dunno, Wilde seems too stuck up and perfect for Lois and will really bother me if she's cast.

Sorry but this Lois Lane who cant write is a Donner thing. She was never like that in the comics and hopefully she won;t be like that in the movie. A pulitzer prize winner-top investigative reporter that cant write? Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Makes no sense and is one more thing Donner did wrong.

Lois, imo, needs to be a little bit obnoxious and pretentious and Olive is that, imo. Thats why Superman likes her. She doesnt take **** from nobody.

McAdams is more like Lana. This naive country side girl.

The comics should be the basis and not TV series or old movies.

Yes. Didnt you watch that scene?

> And all the ****es and politicians will look up and shout "This is madness" and i'll whisper: "This is sparta!"

LMAO. ****, that would've been glorious.:awesome:

Write? Or spell?

Wilde is not too perfect Earle. You know this to be true. She is gorgeous but can look quite plain in some pics.

I doubt they ll have her running around without makeup. But its not just that, its everything about her. She's rather stuck up and regal. If McAdams calls you Smallville you know she means no harm. When Wilde says it it'll sound demeaning.

Hey, that's just me and my weird taste. :cwink:

They also did that in BTAS, but i havent seen it in comics. Admittedly i havent read a lot of Superman comics. Still, its this funky character that's not perfect who wins you over with her ballsy personality.
