we all remember how bad the raimi spidey films were.
that's YOUR opinion, don't try to speak for everyone.

^ Classy.
Is Sony seriously trying to make this movie for 80 million?

I doubt it's true. Only $80 Million is a massive reduction of the standard Spider-Man budget. But depending on the location and villain they use, $80 might be sufficient.
For $80 Million I'd be totally using the Lizard, a lot of the effects could be done practical. Just look at AvP:R (yes, yes, horrible story), but it looked pretty good for a Movie that only had a budget around $60 Million.
There might be less swinging involved, unless they use more close-ups with actual stuntmen and green screen.
lizard is effects heavy, I'm thinking more kraven.
With Lizard, you need a lot of CGI for the head, maybe tail... you could use a suit for most of the body...
I was checking, and Wolverine had a supposed $150 million budget, paying for some serious casting, and ****** sfx...
But supposedly Sony was against The Lizard in the Raimi age (), why would they be ok now?
