I don't want to get into this again, but the endings are now fine, while not perfect, the EC fixed a LOT of stuff.

It made the narrative's structure better, that's not a matter of opinion. If you like it or not, now that's up to you.
yes it is. first of all, this extended cut was reactive of bioware, not proactive. but back before it was released I was giving them the benefit of the doubt about it and it ended up being a really short slideshow that really doesn't add substantiation to the ending.

I'm sure they've learnt from the initial endings cock up and we'll get something much better at the end of the new set of games.

It's not just about slideshow, it fixes a lot of stuff with additionals crew moments, dialogues, cut scenes and ultimately, the slideshows which is something that Bioware likes to do since, a more recent example, Dragon Age Origins, so it's nothing new here.

That's like saying that a building which was recently repainted and repaired is worse than the original version, or that it made no difference.

Not going further with this.

I would argue that it made some of those worse. for example, I don't think shepard would've called in the normandy right in front of harbinger to evacuate his squadmates. there's several more but I don't think I need to keep going.

if all the building needed was a new coat of paint, problem solved. but if the new coat was needed for a specific reason, like to cover up certain cracks in the building and they're still there even after the paint was put on, then the difference for the reason the paint job was needed in the first place, wasn't made.

that's fine, man.

Yeah original problem not necessarily solved but still a new coat of paint so still better than before with the original problem and no new coat of paint.

maybe for some people, hell probably for most people, the building is easier on the eyes/the extended gives a satisfactory ending, but for me personally I can never stop looking at the cracks/can never accept even the extended cut. The ending was bad, and the extended cut does not make it better. It COULD'VE, if they didn't add things to the narrative that made it worse.

The Citadel DLC is the real sign off for the trilogy now. I know you said you don't want to play it but you won't really understand why most people changed their mind till you do.

I haven't played the citadel but I'll get to play it if the remastered trilogy is real. But from my understanding, it isn't a post ending dlc. It is yet another mission that must be played and takes place before the cerberus ambush. Which means it's just adding to the Me3 campaign but does nothing to the ending.

No but's it's still the last thing most people played and acts as the perfect sign off for that generation of Mass Effect, more important than the overarching world-ending plot to many fans of the series. Not much point me trying to explain as you'll only really get it once you've played it. Like you say if there's a remaster for the trilogy that'd be the perfect time for you to get up to speed at the end of a complete run-through.

bro, that's the thing though...NOTHING should be more important than the reaper war in Me3. if it as gargantuan the threat shepard & the game itself is supposed to make you feel, the entire game should be focusing on that. i'm not trying to say the citadel is a bad product, I've heard that it is perhaps one of the best dlcs for ME, but considering the fact that it is set during the reaper war makes it already lose points for me. it sounds like it would've made a great post ending dlc but no such thing exists.

I hope they show more at E3 this year.
there will be yo, don't worry.

Character overrides plot in many works. The characters of Mass Effect will be remembered long after the Reaper War. What do you remember from the original Star Wars trilogy most? The triumphant saving the day at the end of RotJ or Luke Skywalker, Han, Leia, Darth Vader etc?

I've never ever seen star wars bro.

characters may override plot BUT characters are a part of the plot. They are in that setting and the story is told in that way. In the way in which the writers make. And I'd argue that there have been a lot of mistakes with Me3. Far beyond just the ending. And the thing with me is, I feel that I am much harsher with criticism on Me3 than the average guy because after the masterpiece that was Me2, I was expecting something THAT much better.

Don't be sorry, don't not have watched it!

I watched the first three prequels before I saw the OT and apparently that's the wrong way to watch it as well.

Not playing The Citadel DLC is just...... Wow..

That's like the best piece of content of the entire trilogy.

I never played it either. For the same reason too.
