Instead of remake how about they reboot MGS2 and not killed off liquid?
The story would gone a complete different path if Liquid was still alive.
I think killing off liquid was a Hideo’s biggest mistake. Kind of like how Tim burton killed off the joker or what we could of got if Heath Herring was still alive to play the Joker in the Next Batman movie. Raiden can still be the main character

Kojima DID say that if he could do it all over he wouldn't have made Solid Snake/Liquid clones of Big Boss.

I think they would've been his actual kids. If I recall, Kojima felt that doing that would have enhanced the whole father-gene dynamic that MG's whole theme is based around. I mean, personally, I disagree and think the cloning aspect worked much better for that, though.

The only time I disliked the whole clone aspect was MGS4... I figured "advanced aging" would come into play but man... Old man Snake was depressing.

Or... Maybe that was just his stache...

Because Kojima based his look on Lee Van Cleef.

I agree, the fan mock up of Snake with a gray beard worked a bajillion times better.

I remember reading that Snake would have a "razor" in his inventory where he could shave his stache or whatever because facial hair would actually grow on him if you let it.

Looking back that was a crazy rumor... but it would have been cool to let Snakes beard grow out.

I take this back... The is only one man alive today that can pull off a mustache. That man is Sam Elliot.

Tom Selleck still makes it work.

It's a limited number of people who can, though.

Mustaches are still prominent in the military, too. I think if you're anything but Special Forces, that's all the facial hair they'll let you grow. Although, Solid was Special Forces...which is why I guess his mullet always worked.

Snake's moustache drives me absolutely crazy. Even after six years, I have not been able to come to terms with it. It is such a far cry from the look and feel of the character, that it's almost like I'm looking at a completely different person.

Plus, the image of an old, moustache'ed Snake in a skintight muscle suit just looks absolutely absurd. If Kojima was really adamant about keeping the stache, he should have abandoned the sneaking suit in favor of a BDU akin to what Big Boss wears in MGS3/PW. I've always wanted someone to make a manip of that concept (as I lack the skills). At the very least, that is an image I can wrap my head around.

This is how I envision MGS4 Snake (Minus the Solid Eye, mind you. I hated that thing.):

This series only has room for one character inspired by Lee Van Cleef, and that is Revolver Ocelot. Nuff said.

I don't like how it looks, and I don't think it suits the character. Just my opinion on an aesthetic decision.

For the record, I'm not a fan of Snake's mustache either. It's why I always use the face camo whenever I play.

So would have the beard. And looked better to boot. I can't stand playing MGS4 again (and I played through it only once) because to me the character looks just plain wrong.
