I'm predicting Snake's status will be revealed in a traditional over-the-credits phone call scene.

Spoiler: [BLACKOUT]He's very much alive.[/BLACKOUT]

You heard it here first!

Agreed... I wouldn't be surprised if we found out..

that he's not only alive... But young again! Fox.... Alive..

Dun dun da dun dun.... DUNDUNDUN! (mg theme thingy)

I thought that was the Snake Eater theme. But I got it in the end.

The only reference I would want to Snake would be that the bandana Raiden is wearing was Snake's. I'd be good with that.

I could ignore some of its corniness if most of Revengeance is as kinetic and smooth as the trailer makes it out to be. Can't wait for demo footage of this.

Hmm, it's a very violent game that's for sure, but I think the whole disarming thing is an interesting way of avoiding actually killing the enemies, the choice itself is the players so I don't see how that's too much of a big deal.

As for Raiden doing these violent acts ? The character is going through a very dark place in this game so I feel that explains a little, and again it's the players choice ultimately.

I think it's kind of a non-issue to be honest. The choice of whether or not to kill surrendering enemies is entirely up to the player. If that sort of thing bothers you, you don't have to do it. Hell, knowing Metal Gear, you'll probably be rewarded in some way for letting them live. Good article though.

I'm posting the video in question:

I wouldn't of chopped that unarmed dudes head off

I'd of cut him into 50 even slices.

I think it was a very personal thing for me, and I found it really hard to accept that Raiden would even think about doing such a thing to an unarmed man. But I can totally see that it's the player's choice too.

That video really increased my excitement 10 fold. This currently my most anticipated game for the next year.

Anyone have the MGS HD Collection? For 360 its only 30 used on amazon. Seriously wanting to get it.

MGS HD Collection is great, go for it! Though I've heard there are some annoying load times related to the codec conversations in the 360 version. No idea if that's true or not though. Also, it's $30 new.

Totally worth it man, like Soapy just said you might want to check because you might be able to get it just as cheap but brand new.

CVG Preview

You might wish MG Rising Revengeance was a 'proper' MGS game, but this is wilfully different - and potentially something quite spectacular. We can't remember the last brawler, or action game, that felt so good, or paid such attention to the details that make you feel truly heroic
Bottom line: Platinum Games' - of Bayonetta fame - MGS spin off makes you feel amazing. *Amazing*. It's one of those game whose sheer mechanics make you smile, and burn long in the memory long after you've put down the pad. It's just so much *fun*, you almost feel ashamed for E3's parade of identikit shooters with their lumpen, derivative controls and curiously sterile Hollywood action.

Also, it appears Rising is quite popular at E3:

That's what I've been hearing too. Some guy on twitter said he got back in line just to play it again. That's always a good sign.

As long as it's good that is all that matters. I'm sure soon we will get a stealth oriented one again in the future.

I'm still quite upset that Silicon Knights won't do a TTS remake for all platforms. :(

I'm liking the Revengence gameplay from what I've seen. Despite my initial reaction to the original trailer when it was reborn as Revengence (which was iffy), I think it looks much better and could be a really good game (fingers crossed).

Though I gotta say, I lol'd when Raiden stopped and there was the cardboard box next to him. Nice to see a Snake reference (sorta). Hopefully this game still has some of the Metal Gear humour that's present in the series.

I'm also liking the look of Raiden in the game with the cyborg body and electricity arcing all over his body at times. That looked pretty cool.

Maybe it's for the best. Those guys don't have such a good rep these days. Personally I'd like to see Kojima helm a MGS1 remake instead. I think he's said at one point that he might consider it or at least something that gave the impression he might.

Some scant details on Metal Gear Rising DLC courtesy of Hybrid Games:

Kojima Productions have confirmed that Platinum Games' Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will receive downloadable content, including new characters and missions, post-launch.

Kojima Productions producer Yuji Korekado confirmed the DLC plans for the hack-and-slash title upon being asked about a possible online multiplayer component (basically MGO3). While he ruled out the possibility of the former, he did divulge information regarding the game's post-release support:
We don't have any plans for competitive online play or anything like that. However we do have plans for some download content after the release from the game that will allow you to play maybe as a different character or some new missions.
