I'd rather he not sport the beard...

So he won't be associated with Stamp's Zod.

Dont worry, he wont be. I'm hoping he'll be introduced as the russian version ZOD though and when he learns of his powers he'll loose the armor and go intimate with Supes.

So Zod huh. I like the character but when Snyder said this was going to be completely differentm didn't he think audiences were going to associate Zod and co with Superman II?

Yeah, I'll admit, they're definitely going in the wrong direction then which does suck, but I think they know what they're doing here. Zod will be adequately updated and Shannon will nail the **** out of it. BUT I really hope there'll be other foes for Superman to brawl with.

Me too. But this already could sound like Zod returning after Superman II more than a reboot. Even worse, this could sound to GA like SR's sequel.

I dont think they're going in that direction. Fan-wise they're playing with fire right now, but I think it ends right there with Zod being in the sequel and in this reboot. That's the only association. Like I said, from there on this will be something different and it WILL kick ass in a very different manner in every aspect. The potential is there and it'd be difficult to disapppoint us IMO.

If Singer was allowed to make a sequel to SR, I think he was going to include Brainyac as a villain ?

Yeah Singer strongly hinted that he would use Braniac.

I love the ensemble cast. I think it is definitely one of the finest cast comicbook films.

Henry Cavill
Kevin Costner
Diane Lane
Michael Shannon
Amy Adams

Damn...

If I remember right, it was about a group of Kryptonian villains (Not ones from the comics) who show up and kill Supertot.

Yup...That Nolan influence I guess. Still holding out hope that Lex is in the film. Not in a substantial role. More of a set up for the future. Also is there any sign of Jor-El being in the film??

Well, we can't know if this is the onlyu thing that will associate MoS with the previous franchise. Snyder said something completely different and it's not quite that so far.

We cannot say if the rest will kick ass in a very different manner in every aspect either.

The potential is always there, but Snyder can fail the same as he can win. He's made decent movies but some very weak ones too.

Yeah, but just like you could see STM all over SR, you could start imagining SII all over MoS.

Wanted Issacs so bad but now that Shannon's been cast, it's time to put that aside and get behind the guy.

Nope. We need a more charismatic Luthor. His face is better suited for Zod. No doubt his acting for Lex would have been fine though. If there is truth to Viggo involved, he could play the type of Lex I'd like to see. I'm happy Shannon was cast in a role, but more happy it isn't for Lex.
If Viggo is cast as Luthor, I'll curb stomp a kitten.

I would just be watching the movie thinking "Shannon should be Lex, and Mortensen should be Zod".

I think it would be interesting to have Jor-El in the film, however I think it would work better without having him.

The audience will be able to follow the story completely from Superman's point of view. I can see Superman learning more about how he came to be The Last Son of Krypton with every epic battle, every hostile encounter, and every intergalactic enemy he faces. It will serve as a way of Superman understanding with each sequel that the world is bigger than he is, as the mystery of his origin unravels.

So...yes, Jor-El would be fine this time around, but it won't break the film if he isn't.

Do people associate Ledger's Joker with Nicholson's now? Those characters are completely different.

Terence Stamp's Zod was very regal. I expect Shannon's Zod to be angry and slightly unhinged. Shannon has a way of portraying a brooding evil that is about to explode with insanity.

Also, I expect Zod to have a lot of weaponry or an army, similar to Luthor's fake army in Earth One.

i genuinely loled

Shannon is a good actor so I think he will do good in the role and bring just enough to it.

LOL That is beyond awesome. I gladly kneel before him. :supes:

He shall crush the son of Jor-El for this!

Hilarious. I'm in on this guy.

I swear to god. You guys are a BUCH of ungrateful *****es.

STOP COMPLAINING, FOR GOD'S SAKE! Im fed up of all this reaction and BS.

Pump the brakes, people have the right to an opinion and disagree with anything about the film. This isn't a pro-Snyder, pro-Nolan, pro-Zod section...it's about Superman.

Is it just me or does this move seem to be more of a studio hiring than Snyder's doing? Also I'm kinda surprised they went with such a young actor for General Zod.

Its not just you.

Great casting for an awesome villain. This movie keeps surprising me with its cast.

:whatever:

"If the movie is good, Nolan will get the credit, if the movie is bad, Snyder will get the blame"

I actually would like Viggo as Luthor. Could be a different type of portrayal. More subdued, yet equally as menacing. Ed Harris for Perry White. Just because the world needs more Ed Harris.

I'm in the minority of the fanbase who thinks that casting ZOD in the new movie is a wise choice, but Snyder and company made the correct choice here whether the majority of fanboys know it or not.

Very excited to see the character back on the big screen. I am not too familiar with Shannon's acting, but if they cast him surely there must be some sound basis on which the decision was based.

So....... ZOD yes!!!!!!

AND.... so far no mention of Lex. which is GREAT!

I like Zod so am fine that he is the villain, I do hope we get Brainiac, too. Even if he's just mentioned or a cameo for a possible/likely sequel. Shannon will nail the part I'm sure and I sort of hope he does not grow a beard.

And if Cooper is cast as the Flash, then you'd have the mother of all times, eh Jak?

A GL who should've been the Flash, a Flash who should've been GL, a Zod who should've been Lex Luthor and a Lex Luthor who should've been Zod.

I pity you mate. :oldrazz:

Very true, so thankfully someone else came up with the story though Snyder may have tweaked some details. Eventhough the story might not be on par with TDK it will more than likely blow it's action and visuals outta the water. THIS the franchise needs.

It's a conspiracy, I tell you.
