I thought Limitless was a terrible movie, but it wasn't Cooper's fault. He wouldn't be my first choice for Lex by any means, but I'd be fine with him in the role.

That's awesome :)

On a side note, saw Take Shelter last week and thought it was a great film and Shannon was AMAZING.

First film of his I've seen, I already liked him from the interviews but this made me really excited :)

Take Shelter is pretty good. However, I'd really like to hear what they saw in Shannon for Zod and just how he'll portray him.

"You do realize the universe is constantly shrinking, Superman?"

Joke or not? Probably is...

first they decided that they will look for an older actor who has experience and doesnt need a lot guiding on the set.so an actor who will give a fantastic performance even if the director doesnt know what eh wants on that day of filming. then they decided that the actor should be good.

-look for an actor who is not known to much. the paycheck shouldnt be to big. as cheap as possible
-look for an actor who is right now in a tv series. he is already on tv every week so its easier for promotion
-hope if you are lucky to get an actor who has a little creepy/villain look.
-search for an actor who will do a superman movie

Shannon was the right actor.

That damned MTV video won't play for me just cause I'm in the UK

Shannon was messing around when he gave that line so I don't think it's real... plus I think Zod would say Kal-El instead of Superman if it were the real line. Shannon would had gotten into trouble with WB for giving a real line to the public before a trailer is out.

You're probably right, but he might taunt him using his "silly" Earth-name.

But no, he probably wouldnt dare to drop an actual line like that, not being an up-and-comer.

Shannon is always fun to watch, man. You honestly won't get bored with him.

That was clearly a reference to the Bottle City of Kandor.

Does no place have the dialogue other than MTV?

Lol Michael Shannon is hilarious...I wish I was that guy standing next to him, I would be dyeing to lol

That guy was really getting a good laugh there. lol

Will Zod have a cape like Superman? Looking in the photo thread it appears that he does.

If I went with older Lex I would not go with Malcovich, I would go with Ed Harris.

He still can come off as threatening without looking to creepy, plus as billionair mogul Lex, with a capacity to still strong arm people

no one would be better

Is this some sort of hint towards a shared DC universe a la Samuel Jackson's "You think you're the only superhero in the world?"

I just saw Take Shelter with Shannon and it was amazing. He was a powerhouse!

Yeah he was fantastic. I particularly loved that scene where he flipped out in the diner and started screaming at everyone :)

That he was. And he was 100% robbed of an oscar nomination. I mean, Brad Pitt was nominated and he was a ´´Routh`` in Moneyball compared to Shannon in Take Shelter.

Yep, great scene that came outta nowhere, at least for me.

I thought he was kinda strangely underplaying the part for the rest of the movie though. Sometimes he even felt kinda out of place in the role, but maybe that was intentional.

I guess I'm gonna have to watch it again...

I think it was totally intentional and worked so well.

I think another actor in the role would probably have played it more dramatically. But what Shannons sort of awkward and detatched portrayal did was create this awkward and detatched sort of tension that's really rare.

Which for me, is what kept me watching.

It was almost unexplicable. It's not the kind of film I would say I enjoyed watching... But I couldn't be distracted from it either. It kept my undivided attention all the way through.

I think the way he underplayed it also made it harder to figure out if he was crazy or actually having visions.

Because I would easily have believed he was a psycopath tbh. If the movie had ended with him killing a bunch of people, it would have fitted :funny:
