For a trilogy:

1. Metallo
2. Erradicator
3. Brainiac

I wouldnt say hes a henchman, but hes the physical threat that you seem to be associating with henchman (as opposed to the diabolical world takeover types), but Id really love to see Lobo show up.

But Bizarro could work, too.

yeah, but then you end up with 'Double Impact' (Jean Claude VanDamme).

I'd go with Parasite

1)he's not smart enough to be his own villain
2)he provides an opportunity for a superbattle
3)he provides a way to show that Superman is superman not because of his powers, but because of the values that the kent's instilled in him
4)he's an accident, so we don't have to wonder why there aren't more 'Parasites' walking around (unlike metallo vs. technology, if one person can build metallo a new body, then there must be more like him around etc.)

Lobo needs his own movie, not a cameo quasi villain role in a Superman movie

HEs an odd violent character though. Pull a Deadpool in Wolverine Origins. Not a cameo but a supporting character. Superman/Lobo brawl is always kinda fun.

I italicized "could" to show it wasn't my preference. Parasite is.

I'd say Metallo, because he'd probably be the easiest to explain and connect to Luthor. Just use the origin from the animated series. Criminal/Merc on Lex's Payroll, gets hurt or something, (possibly during a battle with Supes in some kinda weapon he "stole" from Lexcorp) Lex offers him a shot at getting back at Supes and immortality by transferring his brain into a cyborg that runs on this rare mineral Lex has found. (Personally, I'd like to say that the actual robot was built by John Henry Irons who just so happens to have been employed with Lexcorp, but it doesn't really matter.) Big fight, Supes wins, barely, and before Metallo can talk, Lex activates his chip and destroys his brain. No, ties to Lex beyond a failed experiment gone awry, (that can be blamed on John Henry, which results in him being fired and possibly brought up on charges even though he didn't do s**t, and maybe helped Supes a bit in taking the monster down, assuming his involvement is included.)

I think Metallo should definitely be used. Im pretty much sick of seeing Supes vs Lex directly. I like the Capone-ish CEO pull the strings Luthor and Metallo fits that perfectly (STAS version anyway). It also fits the bill of ACTUAL rogue gallery being used but Metallos still kinda low-rent in comparison. Intergang could be used as well. But they dont blow their load with Brainiac and Bizarro right off the bat.

I do kinda hope that Intergang has a similar role as the mob in TDK, not as much power as the mob does in BB but is still present in the city

Why does Luthor need to be President? Can't he just be Lex Luthor for now? Him being president, at this point, in a reboot setting? Well, that's just stupid. Gotta build up to that maybe.

The Eradicator could carry his own movie if done right. In a way, I prefer Eradicator over Braniac.

Eradicator is a great, great concept that would fit superb in a movie. Unfortunatelly, ppl never remember Eradicator. Neither writers.

About Brainiac, i like TAS version, but I prefer what Johns is doing now in comics with the character. TAS version is a mix of Brainiac and Eradicator. Why mix both? U just loose potential doing it.

Keep Eradicator being Eradicator, and let Brainiac be Brainiac.

Hold on. I'm in favor of keeping Lex in the background, possibly not even appearing in the reboot origin, just being name dropped. And then in the sequel, use Lex as the former CEO of LexCorp turned President Lex Luthor. I'm one of the few who love the President Luthor storyline, and I think it would strike a chord with todays political climate.

I actually think you could use Eradicator as a villian in an origin flick.

Henchmen suck. Real villains work alone.

I had this thought today. Being in favor of more fantasy elements all around in the next Superman film, escaping the mundane of the Donnerverse, what if the villian of the film was........

Neron? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neron

I think it POSSIBLY, with the right writing, work in both an origin flick or an established Superman movie.

Please excuse my ignorance, but, who's Neron? I've never even heard of him.

Neron's not really a Superman villain. Hell he didn't even give a **** about Superman when he first appeared he was going after Captain Marvel.

Plus Superman can't stand up against a magic wielding villain.

I just edited my post for the wiki Neron page. I figured some might not be aware, it is a very brief page. Any more questions, just ask.

I know he is not really a true Superman villian, more of an overall DC Universe villian, but that does not mean he cannot be the villian in a Superman movie. I want to see Superman against a magic wielding villian, personally anyway.

I think it would interest the GA to see a villian who can inflict true damage to Superman in the next film, and then for the sequel you switch to corporate/politician Lex, who is a whole other kind of untouchable.

And do not judge magic based villiany off of what Smallville has done. They messed it up. But if done right, it would be interesting.
