I'd have to agree with those that want true Superman villains, and even then it needs to be the right one. Mxylptlk, Titano would never work with the common audience. Honestly, magic heroes/villains would be risky business. That should be left for Justice League, perhaps the sequel. That's something you have to warm up to. You could have a brief showing of Zatanna, thus acknowledging magic's existence, before a full blown magic based story. The next movie needs to have a big villain with a solid plot so that people will realize Superman's potential as well as not say "it was no Dark Knight."

I'm pretty big on sticking to comic book origins, but there are some that need to be slightly altered or changed completely. One would have to be Bizarro. We can't have him walking around saying "me save city by destroying it." That just doesn't work. It would be horrible and campy. He could be crust-faced and a flawed clone, but he needs to not be a moron. Not only would it be a bad story, but it would also be horribly politically incorrect. Essentially it's a mentally handicapped person tearing stuff up. That just won't work with fans.
Metallo has a lot of potential, as does Parasite. Metallo is a strong enough character to merit his own story (it could be tied to Lex, but he's capable enough of making his own plot). Parasite would have to be done perfectly in his own story, but he would work well as part of a duo.

I just don't think metallo and parasite are strong enough characters by themselves and mostly because I feel that brainiac, luthor and zod are better villains if you want to create an amazing trilogy. I could see them more along the lines of scarecrow.

While I do think Neron is a superb villain when written correctly, I don't think the GA would be any more pleased with Superman fighting a magic-based villain then they would with him dealing with another real estate scheme. I do think that Neron would be best suited for a JLA movie or in some other context where a magic hero (Fate?) could be used as a counterpoint that can properly do battle with him. Kind of like Eclipso, you know? Seeing Superman getting taken over by Eclipso was only neat when Captain Marvel was around to clean up the mess. Without that kind of backdrop, I don't think that the realistic type of Superman universe that they'll like to employ would be gravitated towards something that fantastical...unless they had someone else on a group hero roster to help offset that.

But it is realistic! Look who just won the UFC heavyweight title recently.

Yeah I think darkseid should be one of the main villains. Maybe Luthor/Metallo combination for the first movie, braniac for the second movie and darkseid for the third. They could always hint at darkseids existence through the first two movies and then go all out for the third. But it would be cool to have them work in doomsday somehow.

Thats basically what I was saying. The Joker having henchmen is fine. The Joker being a henchmen is not. Thats what I meant.

I dont want to see Brainiac or Bizarro or even Metallo to take any crap from Lex Luthor and respond with "Whatever you say, Mr.Luthor."

Being a henchman is the only role Metallo can play in a movie, he's not smart enough to carry a movie by himself.

That's what i've been saying. It's the best way to go about it. Parasite's the one that might be capable of doing it on his own, but it would have to be one hell of a script.

I think Ursa makes a great henchwoman. That'll only happen if Zod is the villain. Otherwise... bring in Bizarro Superman or Lex as henchmen.

Bizarro shouldn't be in the first if its a recon. Lex with metallo may be good, but I would rather see a super theif like the intro of Metallo in the DC Animated universe.

I'd really like to say Metallo, but the Kryptonite thing is getting a little too played out.

I'm actually in favor of Bizarro. He's not exactly a mastermind, but he could provide some nice visuals, assuming that's what we're looking for in this "henchman."

I've actually never been too found of Parasite, or at least the idea of seeing him in a movie. I guess he's just one of those characters I prefer to read about rather than see.

i'd say metallo be the henchmen for the first film, and then have bloodsport, parasite, livewire and toyman in the second film and in the third have brainiac be the main villain and Luthor the henchman.

Lex Luthor is the main villain. He discovers a rare mineral, which he calls Kryptonite. He decides to use it agains Superman by trasfering the brain of a former bank robber that suffered a car accident trying to escape from Superman in to a methalic body full of advance weapons and powered by the meteorite, and thus, transforming him in Metallo and aiming him against Superman.

"Who?"

WHO!?"
"Their is no defeating HIM... And he is coming... For you."
Brainiac self destructs.
