I've been taking the game a bit slow, on the second half of world 2. 5 characters. I thought I would hate to give up Luigi, but man, I am having fun with some of the other combinations of characters. I do wish characters unlocked quicker.

It is the best surprise of the generation. Especially after the reaction to the leaks.

Talk about the switch if there will be enough of it this holiday season and talk of it having VR Nintendo still looking into it. All in the run down below

Seeing some rumors of a Direct this week. It would make sense. Get out some release dates for the winter titles. Set up some hype for early 18.

Yeah rumors are saying Wednesday. I hope they're true. I need some announcements of some kind.

And Direct confirmed for Wed, 6 pm EST/3 pm PST.

And it is 45 minutes!!!!!

It is stated to cover stuff through the end of the year, but I bet there are going to be a few surprises, even if most of it is Mario Odyssey. C'mon Platinum, show us what you got.

the Direct is for the 3Ds & SWITCH and I'm put ing it in that thread now .

Final Fantasy XV Director Open To Opportunities For Switch But Nothing Is Set In Stone. September 10, 2017 . 3:30pm

In a new interview, FFXV director Hajime Tabata spoke a little more about the Switch, including how Square Enix believes that the Switch is “a great platform.”

70 comments Read >

Last month at Gamescom in Germany, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata had a few things to say about the Nintendo Switch, including seeming to hint at a possible Switch version of FFXV. Tabata later commented that the Switch’s hardware was not capable of performing well with FFXV’s Luminous Engine when they ran tests with it at Square Enix.

Now Tabata has spoken to Kotaku about the Switch a little more, and noted that, after his initial comments at Gamescom, a representative at Nintendo contacted him. However, Tabata would not reveal what they discussed. In addition to that, Tabata also had the following to say in regards to the Switch, mentioning that Square Enix believes that the console is “a great platform” and that they will be “open to looking for opportunities” with it.

Here is Tabata’s full comment:
“It was just kind of a joke response. That said, we aren’t dismissing the hardware in any way. We believe it’s a great platform, and we’re open to looking for opportunities. And if the opportunity presents itself, and there’s something we can do on that given platform, we’d like to do it.”

In addition to that, Tabata also discussed his own personal challenge of actually obtaining a Switch, something that many people wanting to get their hands on the console can relate to given its scarcity. He went on to say that he has many games already for the Switch, including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2, he’s just missing the console to play them on.

Final Fantasy XV is available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A PC version was recently announced, as well, which will be releasing early 2018.

Last month, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata hinted that a version of his latest game could be appearing on the Nintendo Switch. Now, unfortunately, the director has pulled back, claiming that he was only making a “joke.”

“It was just kind of a joke response,” Tabata said in a recent interview with Kotaku, referring to one of the answers he gave at a Gamescom 2017 panel. At the time, he’d strongly hinted that Final Fantasy XV would be headed to a console that sounds like “Twitch

“That said, we aren’t dismissing the hardware in any way,” Tabata continued. “We believe it’s a great platform, and we’re open to looking for opportunities. And if the opportunity presents itself, and there’s something we can do on that given platform, we’d like to do it.”

Tabata also mentioned that Nintendo had called him up after his first hints during Gamescom, though he didn’t reveal what was discussed.

It’s unclear whether the call was to scold Tabata for referencing a partnership that didn’t exist, or whether it was a talk to try and make a Final Fantasy XV port a reality—according to Tabata, he’s not allowed to say.

Final Fantasy XV already has several ports and expansions on the way, including a VR fishing game, a PC port, and a mobile Pocket Edition on the way. It’s still possible that we’ll see a Nintendo Switch version in the future, though sad to say, it doesn’t seem to be a project that’s actively in the works.

Nintendo HYPE!!!!

All I want is something from Platinum.

Doom on Switch, huh.

Also, Wolfenstein 2.

Huh.

I can play Doom anywhere? One of my favorite games of the last decade and I take that **** anywhere? Done. ****ing done. Best news of the Direct so far, at least for me.

Yeah, those two games seems like a bit more of a big deal than the quick announcement that they got.

Agreed. Those are big third party games. They aren't ports of 360/PS3 games. That's great news.

Now I'm excited to be a Switch owner. Yeah, I was gonna get all that first party stuff, but knowing some heavy hitting third party games are coming I'm even more stoked.

Yeah it's disappointing we have no Virtual Console news and no news on video apps like Netflix, Hulu and YouTube. At least there's an avalanche of games coming.

Bethesda with the support. I'll gladly buy them.

Bethesda isn't dumb. They know the Switch is selling and they know they need to be there. Honestly I'm surprised we didn't see The Evil Within announced too.

Metroid is already shipped to my house, and I pre-ordered Mario Odyssey. Those will hold me over for a bit.

I'll definitely try out the Octopath Traveler demo tonight(terrible title).

I absolutely love Octopath's art style, just straight up gorgeous, Gonna have to download the demo.

Well, starting on one of the stories in Octopath, man, this game is DARK.

Between Odyssey next month, LA Noire and the Doom announcement, I'm okay. But yeah, I want to get the virtual console on the road. And Super Smash Bros, damn it!
