I don't know why, but the posters just work better with only their first names.

I prefer the full names. That would also work better for a mainstream audience, acquainting them with Magneto's full name and clarifying that Charles is Professor Xavier. I can see why they did it.

The identifier is already there with "Before he was Magneto/Professor X...", people are going to know who is who. For me the tagline seems more personal with just the first names, and works much better to me.

I never noticed it before, but movie Magneto's helmet looks like the Adam West Batman cowl in silhouette.

These posters are not that exciting.
This movie takes place in the 60's. What a great opportunity they have to make some cool retro style posters. If you go to Slashfilm they showcase poster remakes from fans that are spectacular and clever.
These official X-men posters won't get so much as a glance at a theater lobby.

X-Men posters have always been pretty boring, these at least are going for something interesting.

If I had to choose I would say X2 had a decent and consistent set metallic styled posters that featured the cast in various groups. Its like theres no inspiration in this marketing at all.
I wonder how many folks will frame these Xmen posters on their walls. Zero point Zero.

Non of them hold a candle to these action/sci fi classics.

the x-men posters to date are just individual posters.

In my opinion they are good individual poster.

Fox will release much more in the next months, and hopefully the final poster will be more original than the posters for the previous movies.

Honestly, these are the worst posters I've ever seen for a 'major motion picture'. Do they not have budget? Looks like poor photoshop someone at my ad agency did.

I'm quite sure your add agency could do way better a job than this if given the opportunity. These are like rough style comps one would show to clients before proceeding with a fully rendered piece.

Look at Slashfilm. They are aleady calling these the worst movie posters of the year!
