Days of Future Past The Official PHOTO GALLERY Thread

I don't care if he's refined the helmet in X1 etc, I've always preferred the classic look, which is what the new helmet in FC seems to be more like. I vastly prefer that to McKellan's one. It looks much more intimidating precisely because of the medieval feel.

Was just saying maybe thats why his helmet in X1, etc is different and more sleak and modern.

Fassbender looks Great and I want that helmet right now!

However

Other than that, these pictures are total effin rubbish
ugly costumes, McAvoy just doesn't read as Xavier with hair, and HefBacon is not in any way Shaw...and why is Emma a bond girl?? I get the setting thing, but really, a white jumpsuit?

More like someone from Austin Powers or The Avengers than Bond. I wouldn't mind seeing January Jones as a Bond girl though. She'd be hot.

I wish McAvoy was more follicly challenged in the movie. Maybe at various points in the film he could check his receding hairline. At least it would foreshadow what he'll eventually become.

James McAvoy doesn't act with his hair. :o
He will be Charles through his acting. I think it's great that Xavier is, in the beginning, so far from the iconic figure on a wheelchair. It means that James was forced to work on the character without a recognizable trait - like Wolverine's claws, Cyclops' optic blasts or Magneto's helmet - that makes the fan warm up to the actor portraying his favorite. Which is really kind of brave, because we know damn well how destructive fanboys can be when things aren't exactly like they think it should be. :whatever:

I've been reading a lot of really angry and mocking comments on many comics' forums concerning McAvoy as Xavier while people go gaga over Fassbender as Magneto. Both are great actors, so I don't get why one is considered perfect and the other will doom the character because he isn't bald or something. A character is much more than an image, it's a construction, that only a really good actor is capable of doing.

liking the helmet... the hanging straps on the suit make it look like a parachute though.theres probably gonna be a good reason for those suits looking the way they do though.

cant wait to see his final costume though

Was it confirmed that Magneto and Xavier fall out in this movie? I think the helmet confirms that .. unless he's trying to keep Emma out of his head but then I think the whole team would be wearing helmets then ..

My speculation IS Emma Frost will attack the mansion and Magneto builds the helmet for climac against the Hellfire Club.

Every time I come back here there's another new photo. I'm liking this.

The helmet looks like it was a little too big on Fassbender, I actually thought it was a manip at first. But I love the picture of McAvoy as Xavier.

It's amazing how a couple of pics changes the tide when it comes to opinions to this movie. Admittedly, i was one of the people who started dreading this production after that shoddily put together group shot but these new ones more than make up for it.
McCavoy, Fassbender, Jones and Bacon look especially good (Mmmm...bacon)...

I have a feeling my fave scenes from this movie will be the interaction between Fassbender and McCavoy, and Fassbender looks especially HOT as Magneto...wait did i just say that? :)

I'm still not liking who they chose as the "first class" though. Angel specifically is just sounding very random...and she's not a very good character to begin with.

You assume that Angel will be in the first class. The fact that she's not in uniform in that crappy banner photo might mean more than we think. She almost looks villainous.

Arf...

:wow::up:

I love the new helmet.

The helmet looks slighty off center because it looks to me like his shoulder is touching the helmet - making slightly askew.

I like how faithful it is to the helmet we all know and love - but it also works, because it looks like a primitive version of the one in the established trilogy.

Who are the two other guys here? Can we guess? Is the guy with the glasses Beast, and the younger lady Mystique, prior to going blue?
I'm not too familiar, but the one on the right is Havok right?

From left to right: Banshee, Magneto, Mystique, Moira MacTaggert, Beast, Professor Xavier, and Havok.

The Helmet is 10x better than any of Sir Ians helmets. I cant wait to see the full costume in action.

While I've never been so stickly about costumes, I think the Magneto X1/2 helmets vs this one reinforces that compromise can work. Imo, if you combined the first two movies' sleekness, with this one's more accurate look - Would have been perfect for live action.

Of course, I love the new 'old' one anyway, but I'm an easy sell.

That new helmet looks very clunky compared to McKellen's. Almost has a medieval feel. It may be more faithful, but it's too big and too "loose".

I am glad that I am not the only one that sees it this way. Maybe it's the way the whole picture is shot and it ends up looking great in the movie. We'll see...

azazel?? angel salvadore??....some of these characters are no names in comics yet they make it to the big screen. Costumes look cheesy, i feel a flop coming on.

And yet neither Ra's al Ghul, Scarecrow or Henry Ducard are household names to the mainstream viewer. Didn't stop the fanboys buttlicking the Batman films and cheering at the thought that Deadshot, Black Mask and Hugo Strange may be in The Dark Knight Rises. Not a single one of those names is known to the mainstream viewer.

Having SOME lesser-known characters in First Class does not signal a flop. Magneto, Xavier, Mystique and Beast are all faces from the existing franchise, Emma Frost is well known from the comics, and by the nature of being a prequel, it can't include all the same characters as we've seen before. Do we have to keep seeing the exact same line-up over and over? Let me answer that for you: No we don't. Now don't be silly.
