With all the rumors of this being more supernatural like the first. One woul assume there is somthing off about these Pirates. Being how they have done Bill Nighy and Geoffrey Rush. Then again they could just be humble pirates but i doubt it for they are kinda close to purgatory as it were.

I will quote Tia Dalma "if you wish to brave the dark, and wierd.." I'm sure this is setting up something nastly for AWE
 
In what way did he mean they were different? Normal pirates or supernatural pirates (like Barbossa, Davy Jones), except a different form of supernaturalism?

"The only thing I can say is that we go to a completely other part of the world and we face a completely new range of baddies which are even worse than the ones we've faced before - they're really, really evil and nasty - even more so than Davy Jones, although he'll be back of course," the actor revealed.

McNally continued: "The supernatural stories stay there and there is a big new supernatural element that's much bigger than the ones we've had before."

The world of POTC is quite fantastic indeed. This is the type of stuff Walt would've loved to see his creation turned into.

Outside of the fact I think these movies are unbelievably good, I think that is one of the main reason I like them, because they seem to always be expanding the world they created with every movie, it is something we saw Star Wars do, go to different worlds every flick to keep the movies fresh. It's something that I loved about the X-men comics, the always where doing different stuff, in different places. with different people.

Dragons would kick ass
 
Is there any confirmation on a trailer date yet as everything else seems to have one over the next week or so

The amount they have is perfect, these are supposed to be a little extreme family movies, or at least, it has the "the whole family mom pop, junior, and teenager can all like" tag to it, while still being a PG-13 action adventure flick

I would think more violence, no, more action, probably

Well see here is the thing, the third movie is going to be a different plot, but it has a carry over story line, that is why they made it the way they did. I can understand how you may not like it that way, but DMC is a complete movie, with little stuff that will more than likely smoothly crossover with AWE. AWE obviously will not have the same storyline, or even main villain (Feng) it is going to be a storyline that while it has a lot to do with the first two, will still be it's own entity. So we have three sepearte movies, each with their own storyline, but there will be a common link that all three will share (The compass crossing over both movies for example, or Davy Jones heart)

Thinking a little more about it, I´m thinking that part of my problem is that much of what I liked about the first was that it was a well-done movie in a very unpretentious way; it was a fun action popcorn adventure/comedy with charismatic and likable characters, nothing else. If you ask me, they got greedy, trying to make this seem like some grand trilogy in the LOTR sense, only it isn´t, and that pretention doesn´t work for it. They should have gone Indiana Jones and not Star Wars and done stand-alone movies.

OPENING SHOT: A dark night overlooking a Singapore Trading Harbor.

CAPTAIN SAO FENG: (Voice-Over) I hear a song Miss Swann. A song that has been sung by children, ghosts, and madmen. Yo..Ho...Yo..Ho...

Shot of SAO FENG smiling into Elizabeth's eyes.

ELIZABETH: Sounds better after a bottle of rum.

She pulls a cutlass to strike, is easily parried by Sao Feng. Will Turner appears behind him with a blade at his throat.

WILL TURNER: We're not here for you. We offer-

WILL is cutoff as SAO FENG administers a series of elbows and strikes, driving Will back into a barrel.

SAO FENG raises an iron claw to finish WILL off and is stopped by a blunderbuss (pistol) clicking right in his ear.

Camera swings around to reveal Barbossa with Monkey Jack on his shoulder.

BARBOSSA: We've come for The Black Pearl, Captain.

WILL and ELIZABETH turn to BARBOSSA with questioning looks.

BARBOSSA rolls his eyes.

BARBOSSA: And...for the soul of

Shot of pleased looking GIBBS on shore.

GIBBS: Captain?

Shot of LORD CUTTER whirling to face GOVERNOR SWANN.

CUTTER: Jack!

Series of super quick shots.

WILL throwing ELIZABETH'S arms off him.

NORRINGTON in fresh Admiral's uniform aboard his own Royal Navy ship.

TIA DALMA laughing and sprinkling sand out of her hand.

SAO FENG: (voice over) You've come so far...

RAGETTI puts in a diamond eye and looks happy.

The KRAKEN's tentacles curling up behind NORRINGTON's ship.

GOVERNOR SWANN attacking CUTTER and being restained by his men and shackled.

SAO FENG: But will you go all the way to the end?

JACK SPARROW in a surreal desert (Purgatory) falling into quicksand and crabs. BARBOSSA reaching to pull him out.

JACK SPARROW: I'll not be saved by the likes of you!

Folds his arms in refusal and continues to sink.

BARBOSSA: And I don't want to be saving ya, but I don't see any sea turtles around to help ya now Jack.

"BOOTSTRAP" BILL sits at a campfire talking to someone OC.

BILL: I need to find him...he's...my son.

VOICE: You have a son?

BILL: Yes.

VOICE: I have a son as well. In these very waters. I'll help you find yours if you help uncover mine.

The owner of the VOICE leans into the fire and we see his face.

CAPTAIN GRANT "The Sea Sponge" SPARROW: Savvy?

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END

it wasnt with that movie though so who knows.

This might be where you, and many are missing the point imo...They aren't going for this deep meaningful trilogy, sure they are putting the epic scope touch on there, because a movie with the scope that these have, is more than well deservent of that. To me it is clearly not trying to be LOTR, or SW, or Indiana Jones, it is just trying to be Pirates movies, fanfare, action packed, enough comedy for children and adults would find funny. If you watch the bonus features on the Dvd the writers state about 3 or 4 times that they had one long ass script, and they where talking with Bruckheimer and stuff, and they said financially, and because of the fact they had so much they wanted to do with one movie, that it would just make sense to expand upon the like 150 page script they had, make it two 100 page scripts, and film them at the same time for 300 million total, when two seperate productions would have cost 200 million a peice. I see absolutley no problem with that, and because of that I have no problem with DMC having the cliff hanger endings that it did.
 
If all the Chinese pirates are demons...then I want them all to have red eyes, or an orange tint to their pupils in every shot...that would be effing creepy, and effective cinematically. imo.
 
PLEASE RELEASE A TRAILER!!!

seriously pirates 3's main competition (sm3) had a teaser out 6 months ago...i really think disney has to get on top of the whole marketing aspect.
