Dude, we're having the same conversation over two threads... I would've done the same, just I would've made it obvious that Harvey survives the fall and escapes. Batman, in the hope that Harvey can be caught and treated, still takes the blame for Two-Face's murders, and then... roll on the next film!

Yeah, but indirectly.

I can't think of anything Batman could have done to stop Two-Face without him falling. He was right on the edge, any real shock/startle probably would have sent him over.

There's a big, big difference between not saving someone (Ra's) and doing something that directly results in a death (Harvey). Which is what Batman would have done if Harvey turns out to be dead, as his tackling/pushing directly resulted Harvey's death. That is unarguable. And as this would completely contradict the major themes and arguments of the film, I take this to mean that Harvey is still alive.

On the other hand the fact that Bruce is deliberately responsible for the fire starting in RAS's house in the first film he in effect killed any of the Ninja that died as a result of that fire.

He actually says we only have spot for one more RIGHT NOW.

Plus all his goons are mentally unstable. There's not a sane goon in there; the only person willing to guy someone with a poolstick is the kind of unstable mind he wants.


so there is room for Aggressive expansion...as long as the Expansion is in fact aggressive

The only major gaff in this film for me was the destruction of the Garbage truck. I don't care if that guy had his seatbelt on, the chances of him walking away from that are pretty slim.

In a film about a billionaire playboy who dresses up as a bat to beat up criminals with his bare hands... Was your disbelief just suspended out, or is Dublin just missing a masked vigilante or two!?

Brilliant film. Wonderful plot. No real plot holes per se...

However, I'm eager to find out who the FIVE murders were? There was Muertz, There was Sal and his driver... that's 3... But... I'm confused?!

So...I've read most of the plot hole suggestions and I haven't seen this one just yet. Let me say I love this movie to death. Seen it 4 times. But I do have only one question about it. Hopefully someone can explain it to me. When Bruce Wayne goes to the apartment with the police officers tied up he walks to the window and touches the scope and seemed to focus it. So if he got shot at by the snipers and then took off wouldn't the police search the building to see if they got him? That would mean Bruce would have to take the scope out of the room with him because of the fingerprints. Which we don't see. So any suggestions? It doesn't bother me at all. I just wanted to know if I miss something.

The fact that fincher doesnt spit out the smoke grenade in the prologue.

Also, can someone explain to me why people are on the barges? I don't think it's a plot hole. I just keep peeing at that point in the movie every time I see it. It's weird. What happened?

I took this as he was essentially paralyzed, wounded, etc. from the gun shots. Had a hard time getting his body to function. Spit it out? Maybe, but if you thought it was a grenade that was going to blow you up anyway, what's the point? That or he was paralyzed with fear and wasn't thinking straight.

Since his fall was a straight drop, the wood along the building broke his fall as he crashed through it. Dent was pushed, so not quite so lucky...

You know what you're right. They should have explained that. You know what else they should have explained? How the heck does Batman have time to apply that black makeup around his eyes every time he gets the suit on? I mean, he changed pretty fast in the penthouse scene.

And when does Batman go to the bathroom? I never saw him go to the bathroom in the movie, so did he not go to the bathroom the whole time?

This is a superhero movie, I mean, come on, we don't need explanations as to how everything happens. The Joker blew up the hospital. We don't need to know exactly how he did it. It doesn't move the plot along or add to the story. There are hundreds of things that happen in this movie that are unrealistic. Batman having a hang-gliding cape for one, falling out of his penthouse, landing on a car, and not breaking multiple bones is another. Joker not being dead when the semi he's in gets flipped on it's head. Two-face not being dead with how severe his head wound was (nobody in real life would live with a burn hat bad).

The Joker rigging the hospital to blow is hardly the most unrealistic thing in the movie, but you know what? The movie isn't realistic! It just uses elements of realism to ground the story so people can relate to it a bit.

I think Batman drops a bowl shatterer in the extended TDK Cut(Bathroom Scene).. and we need explanations of how everything happened. So the next batman so should be 10 hours long so this type of thread never has to be created again

I saw really only one, When The Joker meets with The Mob after he kills Gamol's bodyguard with the pencil he says "Oh and by the way, the suit, it wasn't cheap. You oughtta know, you bought it." in reference to his own suit, but then later on Gordon says his suit is custom made. This also made me think that A: he could be lying to piss off the mob or B: He really did by the material to make the suit and it was pretty expensive.

What about at the end of the movie? Gordon and Batman speak of the murders that Dent has committed, and I believe they say that Dent/Two Face murdered five people, including two cops. Who were these people?
As far as Im concerned, he killed the cop in the bar, only punched ramirez, killed maronis driver and possibly killed maroni in the crash.

Dent kills the guy that was supposed to sit in his seat in Maroni's car. You can catch this just before Maroni gets in, the guy is suddenly pulled back by someone, then Dent gets into the car.

I can't think of anything Batman could have done to stop Two-Face without him falling. He was right on the edge, any real shock/startle probably would have sent him over.

batman fell off a skyscraper with rachel and they both walked away fine because apparently batmans suit protects him from that sort of thing. if he was falling with two face, all he had to do was turn and taken the impact. OR, now i know this may sound crazy, but i dont know, write the scene differently. maybe even in a way where the integrity of batman's character is left intact. there's a million ways that scene could have been written without batman killing two-face.

Gordon said it himself "The Joker won". He turned Harvey from "the best of us" into Two Face. On top of that...which ever way you look at it, directly or indirectly...Batman kills Harvey Dent and breaks his one rule.

Yup, that's my conclusion, and what's wrong with that??? There's nothing weird about that in any way, and it would make sense.

There will be no ****ing extended cut!!! The theatrical cut IS the DIRECTOR'S CUT!... That's the differents between Nolan and every other director in HollyWood! He seems to be making his director's cut from the very begining! Others ought to learn!
