I think we'd all love it to be cheaper, but it is cheaper than the XBox. UK always gets screwed when it comes to prices, it is region free so maybe ship one over.

Well I'm watching the repeat of the event now. I like it overall that's what you mean. 500GB of space is enough for me, it's more than what I have right now. (120GB of my PS3.)


To play online gaming you have to subscript to PlaystationPlus? That's nice I might subscript not just Multiplayer buy full games as well.

Sony shares up about 2% (in US) which is a lot given rest of the market down 1%.

In related news, Microsoft is down 1.18% in market cap, and Gamestop shares are up a whopping 8.89% at this hour.

GameStop Corp. (GME), the world’s largest video-game retailer, rose the most in more than 10 months after Sony Corp. (6758) said its coming PlayStation 4 will allow unlimited used-game sales.
The shares advanced (GME) 8 percent to $37.78 at 10:53 a.m. in New York and earlier traded as high as $38.68 for the biggest intraday move since Aug. 1. Through yesterday, the Grapevine, Texas-based company’s shares had advanced 39 percent this year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index added 15 percent.

yes. Its mentioned in the spec sheet Nathan posted earlier. That headset looks so cheap. I hope that existing PS3 blutooth headsets are compatible with the PS4 bc Id just use the current one I have

PlayStation 4 third-party publishers can dictate their own DRM terms, Tretton says

The PlayStation 4 won't have any DRM restrictions for Sony's first-party games, but third-party publishers will dictate their own DRM policies when releasing games on the platform, Sony America CEO Jack Tretton just said on GameTrailers.

"Well, I mean, we create the platform, we've certainly stated that our first-party games are not going to be doing that, but we welcome publishers and their business models to our platform," Tretton said. "There's gonna be free-to-play, there's gonna be every potential business model on there, and again, that's up to their relationship with the consumer, what do they think is going to put them in the best fit. We're not going to dictate that, we're gonna give them a platform to publish on.

"The DRM decision is going to have to be answered by the third parties, it's not something we're going to control, or dictate, or mandate, or implement," Tretton added.

Tretton received a standing ovation at yesterday's Sony E3 press conference after announcing that gamers would be able to share their games as they wished without worrying about licenses or 24-hour checks — policies adopted by the Xbox One that have proven fairly unpopular for Microsoft's platform. Today's comments seem to walk that announcement back somewhat, giving third-party publishers leverage to use their own copy protections on the platform.

I don't think there's much as much resistance to individual games doing DRM for eg Watchdogs, Destiny, AC4. Who's going to boycott them on principle if they do that? When it's a non essential game (or non essential console lol) the will to revolt & make a point is a lot stronger.
