I still miss Kevin. He was awesome. Especially when he showed up at E3.

I really like the Autotune remix that GT aired before the PS4 conference.

I believe it'll be $499. They would take too big of a loss at $399 and $599 won't sell.

$399 would be perfect, but I'd be willing to buy a PS4 at $449 I guess.

The two popular theories that I've been hearing is that the PS4 will offer two SKU's priced at $399 and $499, while the X1 might offer either a $299 console with a two year subscription to Live for $15, or a subscription free version for $499.

Those are the two options I keep hearing about and I think that would be good enough to satisfy gamers and the casual fan. I know its been mentioned before, but the consumer market has definitely changed since the last console launch. With ipads and iPhones, people have proven that they're willing to pay for a device that will eventually be updated and replaced by a newer version in a year or two. I think if both Sony and MS are looking at this, they'll see that $500 is the max of what they can sell for, and its where they can offer the most with, but $399 is the most people are willing to pay for a low end console.

Although I will add that during IGN coverage of the X1 reveal, Peter Molyneux commented about not being sure just how much new and expensive tech in in the X1, and I think the same can be applied to the PS4. If there is going to be a significant price increase, there needs to be a reason for it, meaning how much is this new tech actually going to cost and how better is it from what we already have. There has already been comments about how the X1 and Kinect is really just a facelift of what has already been done, so if that's the case, that max price should not be too much higher than what the 360 cost right now.

This is one of the reasons I didn't want a PS Vita. Because you couldn't play your PS3 games on a Vita. I'm glad Sony finally seeing sense here.
its not about finally seeing sense. The PS3 wasn't built with the Vita in mind. That's why the examples of compatibility are few and far between. Obviously with the PS4 being releases after the Vita, Sony can create the hardware to be more compatible with it and have that spill over into development if the software. It's not as easy with the PS3 especially since it runs on old slow WiFi protocols (b/g vs the much faster n in the PS4 and Vita). The network speed as well as the increase in ram in the PS4, makes this alot more feasible than attempting it with the PS3.

Exactly, I've been saying for a while that the PS4 will most likely unlock some of the potential that the Vita has because it was created to interact with the PS4 more than it was for the PS3. At least, I hope that's the case. I remember how hyped my brother was to get CoD for his Vita and how it was supposed to be the game that sold the handheld, but since it was not only a poorly made game, but also not connected to the console version like everyone had expected, it fell flat. And that goes into what the real issue of the Vita has been, which is that there are very few games that allow for connectivity and remote play. But if things go right for Sony, the PS4 could be the very thing that makes people go out and get a Vita. I know it has certainly gotten me interested in getting one down the line.

Vita came out a year too early... I had one and sold it. If... IF they drop the price to 150 I'll think about picking one up again down the line AFTER I get a ps4

No the Vita came out at the right time. Sony wasn't going to launch two consoles at the same time. That would be too much of a hit. They launched the Vita at its high price point and that'll likely be dropped by the time the PS4 comes out, making it a more attractive accessory. The PS4 also effectively will boost its library.

Isn't Nintendo also to blame for the slow start for the Vita. I mean didn't they do a pricedrop for the 3DS and release a ton of games for it, making it the more attractive handheld?

I'm not saying that it was a "bad" release... I understand why... But even I knew going in that the thing probably wouldn't have its full potential unlocked at least until the PS4 came out.

It's a risk one takes as an early adopter of... Every piece of gaming tech ever to come down the shoot.

We'll... Maybe not EVERYTHING piece.. But I still have that Virtual Boy somewhere.

Kind of. Nintendo wasn't selling any 3DS' for 250 so they dropped the price and threw a bunch of games out with it. Nintendo is near untouchable with as a hand held anyway let alone when it becomes more affordable.

Sony came out the gate at what... 300 and had virtually no games =to date there's only like two or three worthwhile on it) and.. Well... There it is.

No the Vita launched at $250. The 3G model was $299, which most people didn't bother with. $250 was a decent price for it. Sony got praised for it when it was announced at E3 as many were expecting $300-$350. It wasn't till the 3DS cut its price, that people started complaining about the Vita

If I was getting a PS4 at launch I would definitely get a Vita now.

Thanks, did anyone read the review underneath? How can anybody review a product that hasn't even been released? :funny:

and no I ain't paying £599, Sony.
Yeah I was going to mention that. And one thing guaranteed from these pre-release reviews is that it will get either 1 or 5 stars, never anything reasonable & not extreme. It's just a stupid thing to do, no 2 ways about it.

The Vita thing sounds awesome, but I could never get myself to get a Vita simply because it would be too crazy to have access to that kind of awesome gaming at pretty much all times. I would never get anything done, lol.

Yeah, Nintendo really pulled a quick one and pretty much revived interest in the 3DS when they cut the price. And while $250 for a handheld isn't bad, I know a lot of people have been dying for a Vita price cut because it feels so imminent. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony announced one at E3 and suddenly it started flying off shelves. Heck, even a $600 PS4/Vita bundle would be awesome.

I'd only buy a $600 bundle IF..It came with the premium PS4/Vita/A memory chip for Vita/a Vita game AND a PS4 game OR free PS+ for a couple of months!

I've been waiting for a Vita price cut, or at least for the memory cards to go down in price. Those cards are way overpriced.

That's a ridiculously low price for all of that.
