Some valid points,I only get new games and PSN cards at GameStop,I don't buy used games in general anymore since I rent them

if you wait a little you can buy new, the price drops. I prefer new now but not everyone can afford to buy new.

I haven't spent more than $40 on a new release in ages. There are tons of deals to be found. People just need to look for them. I think it's foolish to buy a used copy for $5 less when you can often get new copies for much less than that

I usually buy from Amazon when I do, and if I want to get rid of a game, I sure as **** wouldn't even consider trading in with Gamestop. The trade-in value they pedal is ludicrous. I can easily double, sometimes triple or quadruple, what they will offer for relatively new games simply by reselling myself on Amazon. I'm a bit amazed at how much people still use them for that stuff. I know it's more convenient, but Christ.

I only buy very few games a year and always new..But rarely pay full price,I get them either as a gift or my wife puts money in too or I trade in games

For the rest of the year..

GTAV-My wife is giving me the game as a birthday gift

WWE2K14-I traded in games and now have $38 put down on the pre-order,I'll trade in 2 more games to get more money

Battlefield 4-My wife put down $10 for the pre-order and so I'll just pay $50

I rent the rest

I've been overseas for a year, so no games period for me, but even before that I've made it a habit of waiting awhile for games to come out. I think the last new one I bought was MGS HD collection for $40.

PS4 Dev Thrashes GameStop’s Business Model

1 hour 36 minutes ago - In a fascinating interview, the dev behind The Order: 1886 calls out GameStop's used games business model, which he claims is hurting developers. Read More »

********. The used games market helps the business far more than hurts it. Wanting to have a piece of the used games pie is simply the developers and publishers being greedy. There can be a middle ground like GameStop not selling used copies of a game a week after it comes out or not pushing the used copies, but they don't deserve any money out of used game sales. I guess movie companies deserve money every time someone buys a used DVD/blu-ray.

The more I read about what Ready At Dawn people have to say about anything, including their new game, the less I like them.

Yes, people are probably going to want to trade in your new "filmic experience" software.

Man kinda speaks truth, sadly.

I go one step further, I rarely go higher than $30 myself. Sometimes I will get lucky with a gift but when I buy games myself I very rarely if ever pay more than $30. I think $60 is too expensive, and that decision game after buying several $60 games in a row which followed in disappointment for each.

Yeah, I really don't care about a developer/publishers concerns with used games... it's like most other products, you sell it to customer 1, and from that point on, you don't get anything more for that copy of the item... deal with it and build it into your price structure on the initial sale if you have to.

But... I hate the used game model at places like EB Games...

Game A brand new is on the shelf for $65... I go in to trade in a copy of that game and they give me, if I'm lucky, $15 or $25 in-store credit... and then turn around and put that copy of the game on their shelf with a price tag of $54.99. Of course they want to push those used games over the new ones, they make a killing on it.

My biggest surprise is that people (customers) actually go along with that business model.

I approve this post

If someone is willing to sell their newish copy for 30$ to a company so they don't have to do the legwork of finding someone to buy it that is their own fault. The company is offering a service and will buy it back as cheap as possible. People are taking them up on it. If it wasn't an acceptable price then no one would do it and the company would need to buy it back for more.

With the internet if you are in a moderately populated city it is super easy to sell off your games at near new prices... yet lazy people want the easy route. People shouldn't be complaining about being taken advantage of. They should just learn to stop being so easy!

Used games would not be a problem if there was a limit to how many times the same game disc could be passed on. Maybe it would work better if the developers had a stake in the used game & rentals agents. But many consumers seem to pretend to be on the side of their favourite developers but never pay a penny into their pockets. Really they're just another self serving part of the business chain with equal evil stats to Microsoft & Gamestop. ;)

As for Gamestop I'm no fan and trying to deceive someone into thinking a used copy is a new copy sounds criminal. But their general business model I don't see a problem with. It's not a ripoff if they're just quoting prices, you're just being given an additional option to whatever options you otherwise would have had.

Out of all of the F2P games announced so far which are your top games so far?,I'm excited to play DC Universe Online again and that may actually be the first thing I play&download at launch!

I don't much about the rest though

Planetside 2 is at the top for me with DC Universe Online second.

1. PS2
2. DCUO
3. Blacklight: Retribution
4. Warframe

When do people think the PS4 will be out, I'm thinking mid to late October.

The real problem is that certain publishers and dev's like Cliffy B and this guy want Royalty's, which I'm not sure why the video game industry isn't allowed have that, But it seems to be the real issue at play here. Oh wait it's cause video games work the same way as a direct to video market, unlike movies and music which have the outlets of Tv and Radio. any way not all dev's see it like these two do, but I also think there is alot of uninformed issues at play with this which they(both those two) have fallen into as well when they talk it sound like they are missing things on why they aren't picking what they think is due to them financially.

Also seeing that there isn't much competition for EB/ game stop this is why there is an imbalance and why there's some what abuse price wise with of the us the customer. but that be said of publishers as well. if they were in the same place EB/ gamestop is at now position wise.

But ether way that person that was selling the game was trying to do some thing nice for this dev and executed it in the wrong way. oy Man did he have the wrong person come into that store that day.

I don't think I have much more to say on this.

Can't wait to finally read a post with a link to an article titled"PS4Release Date Revealed"

I'm expecting a late October launch in NA with Euroland getting it a few weeks later (November 13th.)

I'm hoping the PS4 comes out mid-November, mainly for selfish reasons. I have my brothers bachelor party late October, then the wedding early November and I'll be out of my apartment for about 2 weeks.

Does anyone know if DCUO will be any different on the PS4? Or just a graphics upgrade?

From what I remember and put up in video they said all the stuff they weren't able to do on ps3 will be done on ps4 with DCUO and there will updates like adding in super boy ETC story content wise.
