I never play the COD or BF campaigns, the are all just bad or meh to me. For those types of games multiplayer is all I care about.

What type of game? Military FPS with strong multiplayer, or just any FPS? People seem to play campaign on something like a Halo. I'm not saying that they're not bad but I don't see any reason why they can't be good. Especially for the biggest games which can afford to have a strong focus on multiple elements of their game.

CoD definitely got lazy straight after CoD 4 but I think a lot of people enjoyed that campaign back when it came out. I don't know if I'd buy a CoD if there was no single player or co-op mode. For that I just try and prestige once and by then I'm ready to move on. (but that probably takes me a lot longer than many people :woot:)

Just COD and BF to me. They just never really intrigued me. I played all of them up until 6, or 7 and just grew tired of them.

I could replay (speedrun) any of them right now except CoD 3 which is too boring with some **** controls & **** checkpoints. I like all the others but they should improve more being the no.1 selling game every year. BF3 campaign I don't think anyone will be replaying for fun!

Fair enough. I can see why people would get tired of a game after 8 versions in one generation coming out directly after one another. Even though I love Assassin's Creed I would have got bored of it this year if they hadn't made a big change to the setting. And Battlefield has yet to have a strong campaign so not surprised if people don't expect much.

am I in the minority here in that I've never played a COD or Battlefield game?

a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I played a PS1 game called Medal of Honor, but that was it........lol

CoD 2 and CoD 4 had the best campaigns. I still remember D-Day from CoD 2 and it's still one of the best missions they had done in a CoD game.

Its such a shame that the ps4 isn't backwards compatible. I don't know if I have the fortitude to sell my ps3. Seems very wasteful to get rid of all that data from past games.

Worse? Wow that really is bad!
Yeah I don't know why DICE bothers. The single player should just be skirmishes with bots.

Yeah generic military campaign number 578. So uninspired, scripted, generic, and boring.

I don't like Call of Duty at all anymore. it should sticker to being a excellent WWII shooter. It's a poison to the genre now IMO. I did like COD4 but liked COD2 and even 3 more.

To each their own. ;)

Medal of Honor WAS the best WWII shooter around IMO.

Yeah D-Day was just amazing. the whole game had lots of awesome missions. veteran was really fun too.

So don't sell it.

I'm keeping my PS3 to continue taking advantage of all the free PS+ games every month. That and Dark Souls 2.

There is tons of reasons to still own a PS3! I have a lot of games I have yet to play. :O

CoD 4 onwards have been great and I've liked every Modern Warfare & Black Ops title (single player & co-op at least). I only played CoD 2 for the 1st time about a year ago and was surprised how well it held up. Certainly much better than CoD 3's campaign which came out after. I still need to finish it on veteran actually. The earlier games are a lot harder on veteran to me.

I really thought they'd turned over a new leaf with the BF4 campaign. :csad:

So you don't like the modern settings? I have nothing against WW II shooters but the modern stuff interests me more.

So I guess this Medal of Honor was much better than the Medal of Honor this gen (not Warfighter or the other one)? I never played the old one but quite enjoyed the one from about 3 years ago.

My DS4 order from Amazon came in. It came in a Prime box which surprised me as I don't have Prime. It shipped via Lasership and they left it outside my friggin door in my apartment complex. They better not ship my PS4 via them bc they absolutely suck. FedEx will at least give my packages to my leasing office.

Sucks that the controller didn't come with a cable. I went to plug it in with my PS3 one and noticed that the input is different so it wont fit. Luckily, I managed to have an adapter so it worked out well. First game I tried it with was KZ3 but unfortunately you cant map the fire/aim to the triggers so I couldn't test that out.

Not sure why but the controller feels heavier than I thought it would. Also odd having the start/select (yeah you know what I mean) buttons not in the same position they've been for the last 15 years. Not sure I like how small and depressed they are. I wish those were raised slightly. I like that the touchpad is a button in and of itself. Does anyone know if it works as just one button or if there are different inputs depending on where you push the button, like on a laptop trackpad?

Gonna plug it into my PC and see if I can get it to work with some of the games I have

KZ3 allows using the triggers. It's not in the control layout menu, I think it's in gameplay. There is a "swap L1/L2" option in there somewhere separate from the actual layout options. I recently bought those trigger attachments for PS3 controllers, and it threw me off too that it was listed separately.

Yeah before Bad Company all the single player was multiplayer with bots. it should of stayed that way because IMO Battlefield is a multiplayer franchise that doesn't need a tacked on single player.

IMO modern military shooters just haven't been very good with some exceptions and I'm more into sci-fi/fantasy anyways. The older Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six games are good ones.

I just got that one just because it came with Mead of Honor Frontline on PS3. Allied Assault is the best in the series but is a PC exclusive. I think the WWII ones are much better.

I'm much more into sci-fi & fantasy too than plain old military. The Rainbow Six games were pretty good especially in co-op but I hated GRAW 1 (single player).

Nothing should ever be "tacked on". Don't add multiplayer to single player games and vice versa. However for the biggest games with the top sales figures.. if they want to expand the game I think it can work but the intention has to be for the new mode to be as good as or at least close in quality to the existing game. Mass Effect 3 seemed to get away with this with its multiplayer while for at least half or maybe more of 360 game shooters the multiplayer is just crap compared to the best games. Halo & Gears of War for eg to me have good solo & co-op campaigns, good multiplayer & good co-op modes.

Oh right. Maybe I'll try the old one on pc. Always heard about that game & would be interested to see how it is.

Actually 4! Just got clarified on another board that each corner has its own input
Cool, didn't know about that when I played using it. So having only held it and not really used it successfully with a game, what's your overall initial impression? I couldn't really tell from the other post.
