No I believe those two particular games do not require PS Plus, many free to play games won't require Plus.

Nice one Pat. I really don't need to get a PS4 as I play on my neighbour's all the time (and If I didn't I'd probably never go round t but I may reconsider when Uncharted 4 & God of War 4 come out as I'll be buying them for my shelf (& to play next door) anyway.

I hate that you have to pay to pay online now, but I do give Sony big props for how they handle a lot of the other stuff surrounding online content. It's beyond stupid to have everything behind a paywall. You may have been able to get away with that when Netflix through a console was a big an unique novelty, but now you can use it on anything with no extra charge outside what you pay already to Netflix or whatever other service in that vein.

Xbox Live, absolutely. PS Plus, I'm not sure. The Xbox is still going to be my primary console, much like it was last gen and I just didn't play that many games online when it came to the ps.

Hah, ill give ya 2. It's 50 bux a year and if ya don't play online, it's really not worth the cost for me. If I ever see like a year subscription discounted, ill prob snag it tho.

Xbox Live, absolutely. PS Plus, I'm not sure. The Xbox is still going to be my primary console, much like it was last gen and I just didn't play that many games online when it came to the ps.

It's a shame as I'd like to although the other barrier for me is having to buy multiple version of the same game. Something I hadn't figured out when I decided to get all the consoles last gen. Cross console play is probably never going to happen so when I meet someone with the same game on a different console I need to buy the game again to play with that one person. It's annoying as one of my good friends just had a PS3 last gen and I also had a PS3 since launch but I wasn't going to buy every Call of Duty, Battlefield and beat'em up twice just co I could play with him regularly. Shame there's no affordable solution.

as for PS+, yah.....I'm a tad disappointed that you have to pay to play now. and I really don't play much MP.

so, overall, I don't know if it's worth it for me. I'm still on my 2 free months, and I haven't gone online to play any games......lol.

I do like that you can download the free games, though. it's a great way to try out games you're interested in but haven't bought yet.

that being said.......don't know if I will buy a full year sub. maybe when Destiny comes out, or if there are more fighting games on the PS4.

and this gen, I think I'm only going to stick with one console ( PS4 ). right now, there is no compelling reason for me to get an X1.

Ha absolutely, I remember IGN or someone combining the value of all the discounts and free games over the course of a year and the total was almost 2 grand. That's just remarkable. Sony doesn't need to give away anything for free but they do , and I love 'em for it. If you have a PS3 and a PS4 as well you can get even more value for it (I'm assuming the same applies for XBOX too with the same Live subscription on both consoles?) I can see there being less incentive to get + if you only own a PS4 which is totally understandable since it's still early, but if you have both a PS3 & PS4, it'd be silly to miss out on the value + gives you.

I don't play Halo or Gears. And those are the two big MS exclusives. So that was a big reason I didnt get the One

And heck yes PS plus is more than worth it. I've gotten so many free games on the ps3. Stuff i would never have played otherwise but ended up loving. Littlebig planet karting also got me into the LBP world. And for that i cant thank sony enough. lol

the only thing X1 has right now that I wish was multi-plat is Killer Instinct.

I have fond memories of the original KI games, so I'd buy the new game right away if it were a multi-plat title.

but, is that one game enough to buy an X1??......heck no.

and, besides, I'm not that big a fan of the "retail model" they are using for KI, where it's a digital only game, with multiple pricing structures.

I'd rather they just release it as a $60 retail game, physical copy, with all content included.

I got interested in Hitman bc of PS+ and that game was never on my radar . I think its great for games which may have been critically acclaimed but not quite the best selling AAA experiences that everyone is rushing out to get. Even if one doesnt care for the free games, the sales are worth it though. The PS Store is no Steam, but with PS Plus, some of the prices come pretty darn close. You should definitely support the service for the system you will be gaming on the most. If you ever decide to get Plus, $40 is a regular sales price. Around BF, it got as low as $30

Knack seems like an obvious choice. I think they are holding off on putting retail games on there bc once they start, they will be expected to follow through with that every month and publishers may not be willing to do that just yet.

Oh another thing and I know iv asked this before, but do most of you keep your PS4 in standby mode? And where is your PS4 situated within your room.

My PS4 sits inside my entertainment unit, behind a little glass door. Now when im playing ill usually open that door to let some air in, but when its not in use that door is usually closed. Are all of yours in the open, or do any of you have yours in like some sort of ent unit?

Just hit the Share button on your controller. The default setting will open the Share menu where you can check out the video you just saved and the screenshot you just took.

There is an option to change the Share button to "Easy Screenshots" where one tap of the Share button will just take a screenshot, not open the menu.
