Just out of curiosity, to all the fine folks here who have a PS4, what would you say is the best PS4 game presently out?

I think Second Son is the most disappointing game out, but at the same time, the game that shows off the system better than any other currently.

My favorite game so far has been MLB the Show 2014, but its really just a pretty port of the PS3 version.

Question, how do i get my games to resume quickly? Like when I turn off my PS4, when I turn it back on, how do I enter a game directly where I left off, rather than having to boot the game up again? Do I just stay in the game, then put the system into standby?

Your..... username is disappointing.

I don't think it does that? I've put my system into standby with a game still in play and it didn't resume where I left off. Maybe I'd have to look it up but I didn't think it could do that.

Haha. I enjoyed it, just not nearly as much as the second game.

Damn. I thought it did.

The PS4 being slow with releasing games is nothing new. It's always been like this the first year with Sony. It was a main criticism with the PS3 (and keep in mind with the PS2 it got released in the states 7 months later and the really good games like FFX started to roll out in summer of 2001). For better or for worse, games seem to slowly roll out for Sony because there usually are delays.

Yeah, the 2nd game is the best one to me as well. I still really enjoyed this SS and played the hell out of it, I also enjoyed the variety of powers but in the end, I missed electricity oh-so-much.

Don't take my word for it, I think I remember Jack Tretton saying something similar at last year's E3 didn't he? I think it had to do with the system's capabilities and maybe that's a feature coming in an update? I do know they are still going to implement controller sharing or whatever it's called where you let a friend play your game from their system online.

I don't think anyone was expecting much in the first few months of release but the problem is there is barely anything for the remainder of the year. With the PS2, they had a lot coming in 2001. FFX, Jak and Daxter, Legacy of Kain: SR 2, Devil May Cry, Grand Theft Auto 3, Capcom vs SNK 2, Gran Turismo 3, Half-Life, Ico, Metal Gear Solid 2, Silent Hill 2, SSX Tricky, Tony Hawk 3, WWE Smackdown! Just Bring It. And yes that ALL came within the system's first year and with the exception of Tony Hawk, were only on the PS2, so those upgrading from a PS1 had that incentive to want to move on. We don't see nothing near that number or quality for the remainder of this year

That wasn't my point with the PS2. My point was when it was released in Japan in March of 2000, none of those games were released in the first year of the Japanese life cycle. Also, almost none of those games were released before July. Even then, my my point with the PS2 was more of an after thought, with my main comparison being the PS3.

Not to mention there's still a good amount of games that don't have a release date. If not, less pressure on my wallet. :funny:

Japan's launch is irrelevant to me as an American :hehe:

still having that annoying Hulu issue on my PS4. :/ When i'm watching something the screen flickers to black...then a few seconds later goes back to normal. Then 30 seconds before the show ends I get the 5003 error and have to go back into the show. :/

I do find it odd that they didn't immediately port more PS3 games to the PS4. It's easy enough apparently, and they have done a few.

But what about God of War: Ascension, Bioshock Infinite or Grand Theft Auto V?

I realize the latter will inevitably be released on the PS4, but its too damn late to make a real difference.

Seems like a missed opportunity by Sony and the companies making them.

God of War Asension is rumored but it didn't exactly sell high and wasn't highly regarded by gamers. Considering how well GTA V sold, I think most gamers that want it or already have it. Would it really be worth the time and effort for Rockstar to port it over when the potential userbase for it would likely be low? I only see one if and when a PC version is announced but I don't think they'd port make a PS4/X1 version for those consoles alone.

I think ports really only make the most sense with first party titles and exclusives. A lot of new converts to Sony have missed out on those games. Multiplatform ports though? Nah, those coming from 360 likely already played that stuff

I definitely think it would be worth the time and money, for Sony at least. Why get a PS4 when the big games are still exclusive to the PS3? Knowing that GTA V was on the PS3 (or in my case Xbox 360) did nothing to make me want to get the new console. If anything, it made me put off the purchase. The other games just help foster that attitude.

I expect GTA V to be announced for the new consoles at E3 (by Sony and Microsoft, since Rockstar apparently doesn't do E3).

Tomb Raider is proof there is money to be made for everyone.

Though I agree, exclusives are better, but don't rule out multiplats. Sony should release an Uncharted collection immediately. Three great games, for people who never had a PS3, or for PS3 owners who might want to revisit them.

I wouldn't call and install base of over 10 million (as of April, which has definitely likely increased) low. GTA V would do fine saleswise if released on next gen consoles.

In fact, I'd argue it would probably be more worth it for next gen systems than PCs sales wise.

People don't get a PS4 for PS3 games. This isnt and really shouldn't be their strategy. The porting over is to placate those who already have a PS4 to boost up the library due to the very sparce and bleak release schedule. These aren't done to sell a PS4 to people

An Uncharted Collection, if and when it comes, will likely be before Uncharted 4 drops. They shouldnt release it just yet. It would make sense to let the install base build up a bit and then use that to promote the series. The worst thing they can do is drop it now and then have people forget about it, but if it comes in the preceeding months of UC4's release, it itself serves as a great marketing tool to promote the new game. Besides its three games, so it would likely take a bit more work to optimize

I also think it would probably have helped make that base slightly bigger.

As someone who would have bought one... I have disagree. Although I had a 360, not a PS3, but same logic applies.

I'm not going to buy a PS4 immediately if the new big games don't even come out for it.

The thing about Sony is that they would definitely be missing an opportunity if they didn't release more PS3 ports to PS4, especially considering that there was a good amount of people who switched from Xbox 360 to PS4.
