I am told that standing it on its side causes heating problems, since it blocks one fan.

Maybe I just have really bad luck with these things.

I've had mine vertical for 5 months and it's been fine. But I keep mine out in the open so the other fans breathe well enough.

They are pretty diverse. Ya got an FPS, racing sim, tactical TPS, RPG, terror action, don't know what the hell QB is and an over the top TPS. Again, i agree Sony has better titles as theres nothing on this list, IMO, that comes close to Uncharted, but theres some diversity in MS's recent and upcoming lineup.

Yeah, I had mine horizontally, out in the open and my fans were original PS3 loud.

I guess it would take off if I put it vertically.

I had an image pop in my head of your PS4 lifting off towards the ceiling while Flight of the Valkyries blares in the background. Sorry I shouldn't be laughing at your misfortune. Seriously sounds like you've had some ****** luck. If you really wanna try a third time then definitely go with a different retailer. You've already gotten two defective units which should be pretty rare given the fail rate. The chances of you getting a third one from a different retailer should be slim to none, but I guess it's still a possibility. If you don't want to risk it...

I'm sure you are, but just remind me. Are you a fan of Naughty Dog's games? I only ask because Uncharted 4 won't come out till next summer and Last of Us 2 won't likely be out until 2017. So in the mean time you can be enjoying a console with more media functionality, and you get almost all the same games you'd get on PS4 and you get Tomb Raider next year. Right now PS4 doesn't really have any exclusives to make me recommend it over an Xbox. Honestly I can't think of any reasons not to get an Xbox One now and a PS4 later.

I just hook up the USB end of the charging cable to the open end of the extension. then plug the extension into the PS4.

it just makes the cable longer.

Listing? I went through two 360's. I know all about them. It's why I ****ing loathe Microsoft.

But when a company like Amazon has to change it's return policy because your damn consoles are defective by the tens of thousands, you have serious problems.

And when you tell the fine people in Mumbai – who Sony pays to "help" their customers in America – that you have problems, they tell you to put a penny under your console, because it wobbles.

Or, you can send in your brand new console, that you just paid 399 for, and be sent a refurbished one, which you could have gotten for fifty bucks less.

where's your source that tens of thousands of Ps4s from amazon are being affected? or that if you call sony then some guy from india will the one to help you & tell you to put a penny under it? coz every time I call them it's some american or spanish american lady. they're rude yeah, but they don't tell you ridiculous ****.

i have actually looked for a google search about amazon playstation 4, nothing particularly came up. if some dude had to go through 7 Ps4s I feel like that'd be some low key news.

So you would rather trust Microsoft who had 2 systems with much bigger issues then sony has ever had lol. I am socked that x1 hasn't had more problems so far has they are now to make unreliable system where sony is know for making very reliable systems.

the xbox1 never really had issues, back then I feel like the Ps2 had the most lol. and yeah the 360 at its peak with the RROD had a 53.6% failure rate, which basically meant at that point that 1 in 2 360s failed lol. the slim and super slim 360's fixed it tho

If only the new how to make good games now lol. There is not one Microsoft game I have ever cared about at all they suck.

What problems are you having other than your Destiny disc? I mean I haven't had any problems with mine.

And let's be fair. Sony has sold 10 million units as of August 2014. Even if 50,000 units of the ten million sold have a defect that is half a percent of sold units. Half a single percent of units sold. Thats an acceptable fail rate in a launch console.

As aggravated as I am by the PS4's lack of media features it a far from a pinto.

anyways, the only good thing about killzone in my opinion is the graphics. the KZ3 multiplayer was pretty fun too.

Though I will say that it wouldn't hurt Microsoft to diversify. It has become the "FPS console". And I like FPS, but some more variety would be nice.

there's nothing wrong with that. equivalently playstation is the fighter console. but shooter games have way higher attach rates.

Did you not see all the PS4 issue reports a while back? I remember them quite clearly. It's the reason I waited. It's part of what contributed to the shortage.

Maybe I read different news outlets.

You are missing out on too many good games. I agree Sony has the best exclusive titles, but mod nation racers and ratchet and clank sure as hell aren't part of em.

There are so other ones but what is so wrong about mod nation racers and ratchet and clank? Ratchet and clank are very fun games and modnation is like a much better verison of Mario kart. The levels are more creative and being able to down load other peoples tracks are awesome. I am a big sports person and mlb the show is such a great game and there is no baseball game on the other systems. I am looking forward to drive club on ps4 right now and Zelda hyrule warriors and wii u.

I heard about some issues mostly about the lound fan but again that was months ago and now I haven't been hearing about any thing and even then is was nothing like xbox 360 problems or even xbox problems. I don't think that was part of the shortage I think the shortage was that it came out in more places an lanch then xbox 1 did and is sale at a fast rate I think then any consle ever has in its first like 10 months or so.

While I would say the odds of getting 2 Wii u's in a row is low. I haven't heard much about the failure rate for Wii u witch means it is probly pretty low. Like I said I had a ps3 get the yellow light of death and have had 2 game cubs stop reading disk and now my 3erd one gives me problems with that some times and my wii sences I got it I have to normal unblug it and turn the system back on just to get it to work and my wii my controller started to wig out on me all the time and I don't even play the wii that much really. I think it is a mistake to trust Microsoft more then sony has they have had much more issure over there history then sony. So I would say it should come down to controller and witch you think makes better games. I just don't like Microsoft they would have to pay me to get one. I would take Nintendo games any day of the week over Microsoft. Even the controller I alrease thought sucked and that sony's was better and no the sony controller is even better.

Lol, for starters I specified some weren't out yet and what the hell does their sales have to do with my point that MS does have a diverse lineup? GT did sell better, save for GT6, but Forza has had the better reviews from the very first game in its series. But again, sales have nothing to do with diversity.

BTW, Pat, I checked, Microsoft right now is accepting Xbone's with specifically the issue you seem to be describing. It seems to be affecting Kinectless-Xbones.

Chirping. It's not exactly clear what's causing it, but some say it's the HDD.

This seems to be a very recent problem, specific to a batch of Kinect-less Xbones.

All the complaint threads popped up right around the same time.

from what I've read, it may be the Madden bundle that's suffering the most from that problem.

and I believe even Amazon flagged the bundle for having issues.

I tell you, I never had a single issue with a console before 2005.

Now it seems like I have nothing but problems. Malfunctioning HDMI, disc drive issues, loud fans... really, everything with the 360, bad hinges...

it's like rich from reviewtechusa said, the more consoles become like PCs, the more problems they have.

but yeah I had some issues with my Ps2. sometimes it wouldn't play Ps1 games, sometimes it could read DVD-Rs/RWs, sometimes it couldn't.

and that's why when I buy these consoles, I buy them from local stores like Best Buy, Gamestop, and Toys R Us. And, I spend the extra $$$ for an extended warranty.

if something goes wrong, I let the store deal with it and they can either fix it or replace it with a new one.

I probably should've bought the best buy warranty lol, they said I had 15 days to do it so I still have time but idk exactly how much it is or how long it'll last

word yeah I thought I was the only one to notice that. I got premium avatars from journey the retail edition and LBP2 special edition and I had to log into my Ps3 in order to change it to a different one.

You know what else I don't like, on the Ps4 it doesn't tell you how long ago your friends were online, and you also can't put up a catchphrase like you can on the Ps3. WTF?

Of course they will. You don't think the themes will be free? Im sure some will., but this will be a way to generate money

The avatar issue was an oversight and Im surprised it hasn't been corrected yet. Its stupid that you have to use another device to change something that should be quite simple

You know, what I have found interesting is that youtube has a million videos showing what a PS4 should not sound like (buzz saw, disc drive not stopping, jet engine fans, etc), but none showing what it should sound like.
