I do regret buying a PS4 last year......to an extent.

The games that I was really interested in, like DAI or Arkham City, ended up getting pushed back to late fall or even next year.

the games that I did play this year, like Infamous, Watch Dogs, or even Last Of Us, just didn't hold my interest. not saying they were bad games, though.

And with the lack of media playback features until just recently, I haven't really used my PS4 that much.

So, yeah, I probably should have waited this holiday to buy a next gen console, and given the situation now, I'd probably have gone with the X1 instead.

Well, that's usually the case with early adopters.

Unless it's the Wii. ****ing Zelda on day one.

Wii U on the other hand... yikes. Rough first year.

I suppose. Though it missed out on some big multi plats. Okay, all multi plats (someone made an insane list).

No Far Cry 4, no Rogue, no CoD: Advanced Warfare, no Dragon Age, no Destiny. The list goes on.

Well, Destiny is no loss. But the others? Just a shame.

Changed my theme to the red spiral option today. I like the white rectangle option but it leaves the menu stuff white too which is stupid since it's hard to see. Very few options as of right now, kind of wish I could just use one of my pictures.

i'll be posting my lbp3 plush edition unboxing in this thread and lbp one

Why Sony Won't Let You Change Your PSN Name

Always wondered. Good reason for ****s not to be allowed to change their name but not quite fair for decent players who chose a crap name to get started back then and now have years of history they can't give up.
thats BS bc if thats the case they would have said so YEARS ago when people first started clamoring for it. I believe its something on the backend, like some technical reason they hadn't forseen when they created their network that is preventing this from happening, similarly to party chat on the PS3. Its probably not as simple as people think it is and it may involve Sony doing some type of major overhaul to how PSN IDs are recognized on the network. I can see it in a future update down the line but I dont beleive for one minute its bc they are trying to protect the integrity of PSN and limit the # of griefers

Good chance you're right. If so him saying that, or even just making it up, leads me to think it's very low on the priority list if it is on there. And agreed that it's probably a lot more complicated than it sounds with all the associated history depending how it was originally set up.

Well don't forget that they lie. Our tom Marvolo riddle did his magic experiment and found out that the light bar does use up significant amount of battery life, but yoshida said it did not, refusing to allow us to turn it off.

I always thought the policy of giving users one free name change, then charging them for subsequent changes, to be a good deterrent to those who'd abuse the system.

how much does it cost on Live to do that now?? $10 or something?

if you have to shell out $10 each time you want to change your name, you'd be less likely to spam the system to annoy others. I would think..........I would hope.......

wat you mean by spamming man

and yeah xbl lets you change it for a price yeah? don't see why psn doesn't let you do it too. they're hiding something. i don't trust em.

well, by spamming, I meant that you'd constantly be changing your name if there's no penalty ( like a monetary charge ) and doing so to troll/cause grief to others.

so, you'd be abusing the system.

a monetary charge or some other kind of penalty curbs that, while letting those players who do legit want to change their names do so for a price.

you shouldn't "punish" everyone for the bad behavior/abuses of a few.

like, many years ago, there were a few restaurants in town who stopped doing take out entirely cuz a few people would call in to order but then never pick up their food. so, because a few people abused the system, the restaurants denied take out convenience to all customers.

that's why, as others have stated above, the no name change policy is probably related more to the infrastructure of the system and not because they want to prevent abusers/griefers. cuz that's just a poor excuse.

just like when Sony said no to EA Access because they said it didn't "offer enough value" to customers. No. that was BS. it's because Sony doesn't want to offer a competing service to PS Now.

oh my god, don't mention this again it's just gonna infuriate me further

stupid friggin sony

psnow isn't even good!!!

Again, you bash them for not doing it but if it was as simple as that, it would have already been done, especially if they could profit over it. Its not done bc right now they likely cant figure out how to do it as they didnt think of this when they created their network 8 years ago. Too much is tied to a PSN account and I can see things breaking if they allowed for changes in its current state. I really do think there will need to be an overhaul before that happens and right now, thats just not a priority

and to be fair, they do tell you when you create your PSN ID that you won't be able to change it.

so, it's not like they don't warn you.

i wasn't talking about being able to change psn name. honestly don't care much for that, i'm fine with it.

it's when they said no to EA access that bugs me.

GTA V looks amazing on my ps4. Haven't played Dragon Age yet but I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a great day off for me

People Are Scamming Walmart With Bogus Cheap PS4 Listings

nhfvcgwwikrhmvt1mf9s.jpg

There's nothing like some good ol' fashioned corporation scamming on the holidays. And as we inch closer to Black Friday, some particularly ambitious shoppers have convinced the mega-chain Walmart to sell them PlayStation 4s for as cheap as $50 thanks to a simple new price-matching scam.

Don't cry for Walmart, though. Cry for price-matching. "We're committed to providing low prices every day," reads the Walmart website. "On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we'll match it. Right at the register."

They're probably going to tweak that policy soon. Last weekend, some lucky shoppers got their hands on $60 Wii U and 3DS bundles by asking Walmart to price-match what turned out to be a glitch on Sears' website. And now, more devious shoppers have come up with a different scam to get PS4s: fake Amazon listings.

It's a simple process. First, someone sets up a bogus third-party retail listing on Amazon that will claim to sell PS4s for super-cheap, like, say, $90:

"AmzonElectronics" is a nice touch. Though Amazon is quick to remove fake listings like that—and you'll never get that $90 PS4 from them—it's still simple to snag a screenshot and bring it to one of the big box stores.

And that's... pretty much it. Anyone can benefit from this scam simply by taking the Amazon listing to Walmart (or any other retailer that offers price-matching) and crossing their fingers.

While there's a chance that more savvy retail employees won't honor the deal, at least a few shoppers have successfully pulled this one off:

Isn't human ingenuity such a wonderful thing? Too bad this blatant fraud will likely force companies like Walmart to change their price-matching plans to be worse for everyone. Sorry, guys!

And this is why we can't have nice things. Walmart already stopped price matching for their food, instead they have an app that is supposed to check all the ads in your area and if it finds a lower price it gives you the difference in Walmart money.

Ive always had the WORST price matching experiences from WM so Im surprised those even worked. They have a rather strict policy

I guess it all depends on how stupid the cashier is. My buddy rips them off al the time. He will buy nice stuff from them and then order cheap knockoffs from the net and then return the knock offs in the good packaging and get his money back

I like to save money but even I find that ratchet as ****.
