I was just rereading Supernovas and wondered how was Rogue able to control Cyclops' powers? In the past when absorbing him she's shown about as little control as him. He's power is constantly on and thats why she had to wear those red goggles in X-treme for whenever they kicked in. X-men 188 had her standing with the red eyes open and optic blasts in check. Doesnt make much sense

Well I always thought that Cyclops couldn't control his powers due to a head injury so what didn't make sense was that Rogue couldn't when she absorbed him.

I think during Xtreme the powers she had absorbed had gone haywire and she lost control of her summoned powers sometimes. In supernovas arc she has her own powers and Sunfire's, she is in not in the mess she was during Xtreme. So i think she has the ability to control. After all she only absorbed a small amount of them.

Things do differ in the comics depending on the writer. They need to work on consistency of character facts.

Have you guys seen the cover for X-Men #199? It's absolutely scary. I have heard that Rogue is going to be put through hell in the coming year. That's absolutely awful. I'm anxious to see what will happen to her. I really want to know if she'll really look like she does on the cover or not. It's a friendly comparison, not to be confused with a VS topic.
I love Storm, and I also acknowledge that during XTreme
she had her peak. It was wonderful to buy each issue and anticipate
what direction Storm was going as leader of the X-Men.
Rogue is now going through that evolution also.
Plus the fact that she is about undergo some
powerful changes is sure to add to her status.

Well certainly everyone wants this for their favs. I agree with you. I just don't like to say for someone "Hey, it looks like he/she undergoes the same phase as that one did in the 'Y' arc/series", etc. Just a habit of mine

I do agree. Each character has their own special evolution. Storm and Rogue are best buddies, but they are both different types of characters. I love seeing Rogue as a leader and getting some respect. And I hope Carey will do the same for Gambit and fix some problems for both he and Rogue.:heart:

Yes the new outfit is great....although X-treme X-men sucked......she did have a good outfit....of course her classic is the best.....I thought the her outfit in her solo series looked great....

That uniform is cool, but I don't like the hair. It's too straight and too flat. IMO Rogue should always have thick and wavy hair.

I loved her hair on the cover. I have the TPB. It looks more natural and sophisticated than her nineties hair, though I loved it. The Invasion of Dimension X arc was great in X-Treme X-Men. (I only recently began reading the comic again, and I bought that TPB.) I liked the idea of an independent team and I liked Rogue's hair in that one too; the cute bob.

What bulge? Her uniform is skin-tight.

Rogue has always had a great look. Well except for her first apperance in Avengers or whatever...the hair looked kinda....okay, really bad. I really liked how she looked when she first joined the X-Men, just a really really cool look.
