At the base of all male X-characters is Cyclops.

Cyclops + Cajun accent and slight ambivalence = Gambit

Cyclops + telepathy - hair = Xavier

Cyclops + blue hair + unchartable genius = Beast

Cyclops + wings = Archangel

Cyclops + blue hair + teleportation = Nightcrawler

...see where I'm going with this?

However...the same could be said of the female X-characters...with JEAN GREY as the base.

PS Rogue as a trannie is SOOOO WRONG...

But she is drawn a little butch and overly muscular a couple times.

Kinda, but I can't exactly agree totally, eh.

Cyke kinda fills the 'TOUGH boyscout/beaver cleaver' archetype. Not quite since day one, but pretty damn close.

Not every character has that. Of all the 05, he's the only one. Of all the Second Class, only Wolvie had it from the get-go. Remember how the Second Class kept whining about him being too harsh? Yeah.

Really, only Alex and remy are actual 'variants' of Cyclops. Namely the Cool Guy and the Pissed Off Brat.
