Apocalypse The Official Sophie Turner/Jean Grey Thread - Part 2

That moment where Jean got to shine was my favorite scene in the movie by far.

i love her. she has always been my favorite x men and I LOVED HER HERE.
charles really kept her powers level secret because apocalypse was gobsmacked by her. and her melting the walls of her room during the nightmare.
perfection.

Um...some of us still have a week to go before we can see this film. Learn the power of Spoiler Tags people, damn. :cmad:

:oldrazz:

The film really did Jean justice and she has some great scenes! Sophie Turner did a pretty good job and I think it helped with the reception for her as Jean that Sansa became more liked and badass with the last episode of Game of Thrones.

Yes, she was really good, despite the complaints before the movie about her accent, her body, her Englishness, her lank hair, etc...

Whats wrong with her body?

Emilias been taking a beating on imdb about her body as well lately. A bunch of fat lazy couch potatoes criticizing goddesses for their appearance.

Sophie was great and I wasnt convinced going in but she really seemed like Jean to me and had some of the best moments, her and Scott had good chemistry too.

Some people have a very big issue if you are a woman in Hollywood/films and not a size 0. Which is sad if that's their idea of beauty.

Having watching the film trice and I think its safe to say she and Psylocke were the like crowd faves when it comes to the female characters (Nightcrawler & Quicksilver for male characters). Like when I came out of the theater, people were talking about them like non-stop!

psylock was giving all of them such stink-eye as she was leaving at the end, i was like "girl, you mad you lost" or something.

Ugh, that original comment made me angry. She is beautiful.

Has your opinion changed much over the three times you've seen it? I'm going for my second viewing tomorrow. Gave it a solid 7 upon my first watch.

I still think its an underwhelming film because watching it more and more won't change certain characters that didn't get much role and the scenes that made me cringe, still makes me cringe. But it helped me enjoy more the things that I liked.

She is plotting her revenge arc!

Absolutely nothing wrong with her body. :hmr:

I thought she was good in some scenes, but the bed scene after she having the visions, it felt wooden in the trailer and in the film as well.

it wasn't her acting it was the script. i mean the first line out of her mouth to charles was "i saw the end of the world, i could feel all this death". that needed an intro of some kind, a line or two before it.
like this for example :

charles : it's all right jean. youre safe. another nightmare ?
jean : yes proffesor, but worse then before. it felt so real. i saw the end of the world .........

People on here (such as JP) were laughing at her body, saying she was buit like a linebacker.

i've never criticised her body at all.

I think you should see the film before taking part in all these discussions where it sounds like you have already seen it.

There's far too much anxiety and bashing before even watching the goddam thing these days. Sometimes I hate the internet.

I do agree we need fresh blood in the franchise but the film is not as bad as people are saying (just as Civil War is not as good as people are saying). I also wouldn't want a repeat of the tone/aesthetic of Civil War to be honest.

Lightning Strykez! will hate the movie because Lightning Strykez hasn't been the most positive person on this forum for a long time now andsounds ready to hate it, so it probably doesn't matter

Horrible acting. Wooden, expressionless and unconvincing. Like Kristen Stewart.

Oh Jean! It's so good to see her again! And that scene we will no doubt be talking about for years!!!!! She was so great! Love her

the final scene is pretty much what people have been waiting for since 2006 ;p
