The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition - Part 1

He didn't. He got new powers which he lost once they took all those crystals out of him.

Then his powers came back again for no reason.

I don't know. With Pietro I figure his sister finally took pity on him and gave him his powers back somehow.

Well, his powers came back after he had a vision of Wanda feeling sorry for him. Layla also once said that being Wanda's twin gave Pietro some sort of connection to chaos magic (hence why half of Layla's predictions didn't work on him), so that might've had something to do with it.

I'm still uncomfortable with mutants being automatically granted magical powers. That's never sat well with me. Magic's better when you've gotta work for it.

Same here, but we have to deal with Wanda being a born kung-fu magic genius, and Pietro & Storm having ill-defined connections to magic.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if Illyana Rasputin's teleportation powers are magical or mutant? She gave Pixie magical teleportation powers through the same "take a piece of your soul and put it in a knife" method she went through, but if Illyana's teleports are magic, then what's her mutation? And for that matter, why did the Exiles version of her (who didn't have magical powers) also teleport?

A knife? Pff, Illyana got a whole sword. Illyana's soul puts Pixie's to shame. :o

For the Exiles version, I'm sure she just happened to be a version with mutant teleportation powers. The Exiles could come up with literally any variation on any character, so it's not a big deal what powers they have. I always thought 616 Illyana's teleportation was her mutant power, though. I mean, you can teleport via magic as well, so there's not necessarily any conflict.

Her teleportation powers are her mutant powers. They just happen to have a link to limbo. Also, Pixie has to say a spell to use her teleportation powers, Magik doesn't. Everything else Magik can do is likely magical.

I've not been able to get my hands on Carnage # as of yet. Who is the other symbiote they were talking about having to help spider-man, and iron man?

Not Toxin...

Scorn, yet another new symbiote, offspring of Carnage.

So that brings the count up to...
Venom 12.0 (Flash)
Anti-Venom
Carnage
Scream (Limbo)
Hybrid (Limbo)
Toxin (Limbo til further notice)
Scorn (new...)

Tired of this s*&^...:doh::o:cmad::dry::csad:

Illyana's teleportation IS her mutant power. The sorcery and sword are magical stuff she learned. The stepping discs is what makes her a mutant. Pixie must recite a spell in order to teleport. Magik, does not

Edited to add: Basically what Specter said

i prefer the USM interpretations of the symbiotes.

616 doesn't know what to do with them anymore. I'm sure we will find out something new and stupid about Carnage this fall when his new series launches.

So when did everyone decide that Cyclops and Spider-man were to be made the butt monkeys of the universe? Cyclops has it a bit better now since he's God-king of mutants :p but still, for a long time he was getting the crap kicked out of him every other week.

Spider-Man doesn't have his spider-sense anymore, right? Goes a long way toward explaining why he could conceivably get his ass kicked more now.

Say if you were any character that could fly in space and strong, when Hulk is going bats*** crazy you could hug and coo him to calm him down. Fallowing that up by flying him into the sun thus ridding the earth of the hulk?

Note: I don't dislike the Hulk just wondering?

Also on the Hulk note, who would win Hulk or Gladiator? Hulk would keep getting more angry/strong but what if Gladiator felt 100% conviction that he could take him and it would be the right thing to do. Or would that fight last forever and destroy the would around it?

Well, If you could fly in space and were strong, you'd also have to be very, very fast. Otherwise before you could get to the Sun, Hulk would elbow you in the face.

And as with all fights, depends on who is writing it.

Hulk is one of the most popular characters in comics and Glads is a superman knockoff who got owned by Cannonball. So, you know, Hulk.

I'm pretty sure if you were to try to fly the Hulk into the sun, he'd just get so mad he'd "break the sun"...I'm not kidding you. At the end of WWH, he came close to breaking the Earth in half by just getting so angry he was letting off ridiculous levels of energy...

Then there's a thought...how does that much gamma energy and the sun mix? I doubt it'll mix very well. The next Hulk evet, "Gamma Eclipse".

It's pretty rare to see Gladiator at 100% confidence. I'm sure a little old lady could take him out after insulting his mohawk and the awkwardly shaped "G" on his chest.

Why didn't they just turn him into Bruce Banner? X-Ray and the U-Foes did it pretty easily. I believe the Leader has done it more than once.

Bah! WWH was a JOKE!

:ff: :ff: :ff:

just saw the cover for uncanny xforce #12 and my stupid question is..Nightcrawler is alive again?

Who the hell knows? Something in his comic, I'm sure. I think I asked that somewhere around here, but I can't remember the answer now.

The Ultimate Spider Slayer gave Scorpion a form of Spidey Sense. Spidey created something that would stop that but got caught up in it himself, thus, losing his own Spider Sense as well.

And now you know.

No. X-Force are currently stranded in the Age of Apocalypse. So that's the AoA Nightcrawler. And yeah, it's kinda messing with Logan's head, as is being around Sabretooth and Jean again.
