Is the What IF? AvX Just Marvel's way of saying the Avengers were right and a big **** you to anyone that remembers the real history of the Phoenix Force?
And why did Jean choose to just save Logan when there were other people around she could have saved too? Makes no sense to me...
They are not. Everything Loeb and Man of Action said about how it's a spiritual successor and they're not saying EMH never happened? LIES!Are Avengers: Earth's mightiest heroes and Avengers Assembled part of the same universe? When the later was announced they said it was going to be a follow up, However the wikia lists them as being part of different universes, and Assembled being in continuity with Ultimate Spider-Man and Hulk Agents of SMASH
Atention, Thor 2 spoiler question
you were warnedDid Thor ever lose his hand in the comics?
Old Thor did. The one from the (possible) future.
You got a link for that Thor 2 spoiler? That's pretty interesting.....
I think the point in the sentinels is that they're tough for mutants to take down because they're big hunks of metal, expendable because there's no human law enforcer putting his/her life on the line, and downright intimidating for any mutant that sees one coming.
We've seen time traveling sentinels from the future that adjust their defenses and strategies based on the powers of the mutants attacking them. The Prime Sentinels were humans fitted with nanotech enhancements who were less likely to crush a crowd of innocent onlookers if they got knocked down.
how many humans have the means to apprehend and/or take down a super powered mutant on their own? You have to take into account that these were originally created in the 60s by those who hated and feared mutants and they were very technologically advance for the time. Since then they've been modified numerous times to make them more efficient and safe. There's been no less than 15 different models and that number rises with new stories

Does Nick Fury still need his Infinity Formula? I thought I read somewhere he doen't need it anymore as he makes his own or something?
Magneto is just one mutant and there's a mutant out there with a power for almost every possibility. You cant account for every single scenario. Some models of sentinels came equipped with power dampeners so Magneto being able to control metal was a moot point if he had no access to his powers.Ah ok. Well considering that one of the most feared known mutants at that point in time(relative to the movies) is a guy who manipulates metal, it's still pretty stupid(unless there's a model which has no metal whatsoever). Having seen some of the images of the Sentinels in DOFP they're not as big as how they were made out to be in 90s animated cartoon or the Wolverine & The X-Men which is a good thing as it's not as over-the-top I suppose.
He was in a wheelchair and recovering from having Wolverine impale him in the chest. He could probably barely lift up a small car at that point, let alone take on a bunch of sentinelsThough all the power he had could stop those sentinels from killing 6 million mutants.
I wasn't aware Fury ever actually needed it. I thought it was just something he did that the writers made up to justify how long he's been around.
It took place during Jurgens run on Thor. I think the arc in question was called The Reigning. Jason Aaron has used Old Thor during his run as well
