are these upcoming comics?

and isn't it kind of strange that Power Girl is more covered up than Kara??

Yep. They're part of the second wave of new books along with Batman, Inc. and a couple new things replacing the 6 cancelled titles.

I'm thinking batman inc. and dial H are gonna be the only second wave titles I bother with

I never read the first Dial H. So I have no interest in the new one. Don't even know what it's about.

There's this device, that spells out the words HERO. A person finds it, pushes the buttons, and turns into a random Superhero. (Or villain, depending on your mental state.)

The last series was awesome, as the original kid who found it was searching for it, as it passed through the hands of many people. One *****ey, mans man kinda guy used it, turned into a 6 foot tall hot blonde with super powers, then lost it, only to be stuck as a chick for the rest of his life. Then of course there was the serial killer who found it, and took full advantage of the power at his command. Man that s**t was awesome. I may go dig it up and read it again.

if you can be a hero or a villain with it, why does it only spell out HERO? It should spell VILLAIN too. :o

Initial intent? It was created to spit out heroes, but each person does what they want with the power.

well, everybody says good things about it. I'll put it on my ever-growing list of trades to check out.

Well, just because the last series was awesome doesn't mean this one will be. I'd wait for word of mouth if I was you.

And yeah, it's all about intent. No matter who uses it, they're gonna look like a superhero. Bright colors, Pretty face, Booty chin, etc.....but what you do with it pretty much determines what you are, not how you look. The serial killer looked like a Superman knock off, only he ripped people into little pieces and made creepy dioramas out of their corpses.........so.......you know. :o

I meant check out the last series. I'm definitely not gonna buy the new one without knowing anything about the old one.

Superman being a badass is like you're mom being a badass after you've pissed her off for a few hours; yeah, it's scary as ****...but she's still your mom.

Same. Though, I have to admit, though the variant cover does nothing for me in any sense, it does make it curious as to what Earth 2 will actually be about. That's just doesn't invoke anything I was expecting from it.

I'm not really sure why anyone would want Superman to be scary.

People are just silly, Corp. People are just...silly.

LOL :funny: That's a good way of putting it....I like that. I have 3 kids of my own, I can relate.

“My initial instinct upon reading the issue was to do something with the bottled cities of Metropolis & Kandor,” Burnham exclusively told THE SOURCE. “I LOVE the bottled city of Kandor. A few years ago I was at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh with my then-3-year-old nephew, Noah. We stumbled upon this incredible sculpture exhibition by the late great Mike Kelley. The exhibit is simply called ‘Kandor’ and features dozens of astounding renditions of the bottled city. Google it. It’s amazing. And well worth tracking down in person if you get the chance. It was my favorite part of the museum and it was Noah’s too! I literally had to drag him out of there kicking and screaming after we’d spent almost an hour in there. Kandor love runs in the family!

ANYHOW. Rags had already done an excellent job with a literal approach to the bottled city idea, so I decided to go a little more conceptual. The pieces all fell into place for a good, old-fashioned split cover! Superman torn between two worlds! Kandor and Metropolis! Nature and nurture! Teflon and cotton!

The cover also gave me the chance to work with the incomparable Gene Ha’s astoundingly complicated designs for Krypton and Kandor. It was a great challenge to be true to his vision without straight-up tracing what he’d already drawn. Did I pull it off? You decide!”

I like it. Superman's face and the buildings behind him. It's all so nicely drawn.

The great thing that Pre-Flashpoint brought out in the Superman/Batman relationship, was the stark contrast between the two.

Now??? Both are guys are brooding all the time......negative. This is just stupid.

The great thing about reading comics is knowing what you talk about.

Now?? You just assume things and act like you've read them.

PS. BOoooyaaa! :) Don't worry Shazam, Superman aint no brooder!

First Look: Pauley Perrette Plays Lois Lane

120213mag-pauley1.jpg

Pauley Perrette is getting out of the lab. The NCIS star will voice Lois Lane in the upcoming animated DVD-movie Superman vs. The Elite. Based on the story "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way?," which ran in Action Comics No. 775 in 2001, the film pits the Man of Steel against a ruthless team of "heroes" with staggering powers. Unlike Superman, The Elite are not afraid to use violence, including killing, to stop anyone they consider bad guys. As the public begins to rally around these superhuman vigilantes, Superman (George Newbern, who also voiced the character in the Justice League series) must figure out a way to stop them without compromising his principles of (you guessed it) "truth, justice and the American way."

Helping him sort it out is Lois, balancing her roles as a Daily Planet reporter and Superman/Clark Kent's wife. "I think there are similarities between Abby and Lois," Perrette says, comparing this character with her quirky NCIS forensic scientist. "They're both very smart and confident and really good at their jobs. They're both really focused. Abby just doesn't have a Superman."

Superman vs. The Elite, the latest in a series of DC Comics-themed movies from Warner Bros. Animation, will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, digital download and on demand. An exact release date has yet to be determined, but expect to see it before July's Comic-Con International.

Dear lord, why did Leno become a Superman for this? I mean, seriously? The voice actress they picked for Lois Lane couldn't be a hotter decision. <3 Love me some Perette, hope she does a great job. Remember this movie has a proper preview in the Justice League: Doom movie that comes this month.

I also hope the movie has a better ending than the comic. The comic just ends
with Superman beating the leader and giving this high morale lecture after beating them up, i'd say have the movie end with Superman leading the Elite as a proper team of heroes.
