Like you said,the problem the superman comics have over the last years is not due to the character its storys like the one were he walks across america.
The new changes didnt help him either in a long term, especially when the they change everything that made him superman.



From what i heard the sellings are slightly fewer then before the reboot.
They dont sell that bad but they are far away from the numbers a superman book should bring.

And exactly what kind of numbers "should" Superman bring?

I dont know, i have no idea how the sales are but i think normaly he should be in the top 4. i mean he is superman, he is one of the most popular comic book character(at least before the reboot).

Superman #0 was alright, better than I expected.

Not to mention, half the time the Top 4 is nothing but event books.

In August, the only books that sold higher than Action were...

AvX (an event book)
Batman
Justice League
Before Watchmen (essentially, an event book)
Spider-Man
And Green Lantern.

Outside of GL, it doesn't surprise me at all that any of those titles would be more popular than Superman. They have been for years now.

Now, obviously, at #30 on the charts, the main Superman title is selling pretty mediocre. But I guarantee that's mainly because it doesn't have anything close to resembling an A-List creative team. You need that to sell books in this day and age.

JLA, Superman titles, Batman titles, and Wonder Woman titles should have the most talented creators that the industry have to offer and consistently be selling in top ten.

Well, most of the Batman titles, Action, and Wonder Woman are all in the Top 15, at least.

I heard that action comics is great since a long time,i want to give it a try but im not sure.All the changes they made in the superman books throw me of enough. The main reason why im not very friendly with the new 52 superman is because of the changes they made to the character. IMO it feels like a cheap way to have a character that can be bend around their "bad" storys. In the batman books i have the feeling the writer build the storys around the character while in superman the writes build a story and then change and squeeze the character to fit into it. I just cant shake that feeling of,especially when i read some batman storys were the core of the batman/bruce wayne character is always present and unchanged. I dont know maybe im looking at this the wrong way or so but thats just my opinion.

I came here hoping that people would be talking about the superman suit shown in issue #0. Besides being black I like it a lot more than the new 52 suit. What do you guys think? I wouldn't mind if it became the new suit, but change it to blue first. I would think most fans would appreciate the loss of the collar

No, the cape is not . Its the cape with Jeans, t shirt, and work boots that looks silly. His original costume with the trunks is far less silly.

I did my own colored version of the 0 issue suit just to comprehend what it might look like. I thought I would share...

I am not a colorist or anything, so if you don't like it, whatever. I also had a tough time deciding how to color the gray accents. All in all, I like it more than the New 52 Suit

More proof that the New 52 collar and boot design sort of stink. I'm looking forward to seeing how this new seamless suit plays into the series, and if it'll be adopted into the full continuity.

I saw a solicitation for Superboy, I think, where Superman is in his t-shirt and jeans. Is he still supposed to be alternating between that 'costume' and his armor in the present? I thought he was supposed to leave it behind completely at some point.

yeah, what was with the grey suit and him being on Krypton? I dropped both Superman titles and picked up #0 on a whim.

No one really knows what he was doing on Krypton or what the deal is with that black suit.
My guess is that there is time-travel going on, and the black armor is somehow related to keeping his powers active while under the red sun.

7heBoss-- That color rendering is amazing! Honestly, I would be quite happy if that were the new suit instead of the current one.
