What are the extras like? I've contemplated getting it, but for that price, seems like a stretch and a half. Especially since I have the hardcovers already.

Not loads. Some design concepts and profiles for most of the characters featured. Maybe not a lot more if you've already got the hardcovers. All I had was the single issues.

It probably is not worth getting unless you really want those extras Corp

Woah, that was unexpected. Well, not expected to see more Earth One stuff, but he's leaving both book entirely? Interesting.

wait, so JMS starts all sorts of ruckus and fuss by simultaneously embarking TWO of DC's top profile characters on highly publicized, yet totally underwhelming, story arcs....and he cant even finish them?

The new writers are continuing his story, which is kinda blant since its just writers trying to work out JMS' script and so forth... Why not let them do their own stories? >_>

Well, I posed this in the WW thread:

Well, it does just say that he'll be following his 'story notes', so that doesn't mean much. J.H. Williams still has some of Rucka's notes for his Batwoman run, but it's suppose to be fairly different. Let's wait to see what Hester says on the subject

So, yeah, I'm going to wait to see what's said first. Maybe they'll just take certain things from notes, or finish out the planned arc (it's impossible to really just have Hester do his own thing with WW, with the whole alternate timeline story going).

But I think this is probably a good thing for JMS. His pace at writing is probably better for direct to GN type of tales. Also, I kind of wonder if his Supes and WW run not being as well received as he and DC wanted had something to do with the decision on his part.

Glad to see him gone, but wow, he came in, laid two duds, got completely blown off the map by Paul Cornell's writing on Action, wrote one hit (why it was a hit I don't know) with Superman Earth: One, got sick, and left both monthlies.

I'd take a break too.

He really shouldn't be on two ongoing books, frankly. I don't care what excuses he or his fans make for him, he does not keep a good schedule, for whatever his reasons may be.

Also, I read on the CBR forms that Chris Roberson will be taking over for JMS on Superman. Not sure if that's official or not, but from what I've read of him, Roberson is fairly solid.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Good for Roberson and Hester. I hope Roberson takes Superman in a different direction after Grounded.

He did that Cinderella Fables mini and I, Zombie at Vertigo, and I think he did that Superman/Batman two parter that took place in the whole DC One Million stuff that just ended.

I've enjoyed his I, Zombie a little more with each issue, so I may give it a shot once he wraps up the whole Grounded thing. Maybe that's not the best gauge for a super hero tale, but I'm willing to give him a shot.
