The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Official TASM2 Costume Thread!! - Part 1

i can understand the internet

make a new suit
"I hate the new suit , like the classic look better, this one sucksss"
then bring the classic look
"I liked the original reboot suit, there is no originality anymore"

It's simple, now that Marc Webb has made the Spider-Man suit the classic costume, there's nothing to really complain about, unless you hate the look of the classic suit. They're now claiming to NOT like the classic suit after begging for it ever since the new suit (in TASM) was seen.

Mostly Raimi fans no doubt.

Is your first name Tyler, and your middle The?

Maybe this is their new way of trashing the franchise. Claim that the creative dept is so uninspired and inept that they have to rip off the Raimi suit.

Well, if he has no web fluid and is pushed out of a plane, he'll need some backup.

He would fall just as fast with them as he would without them. Hello, webbing isn't air resistant, there's gaps between every thread lol

Actually I think it's the Webb fans complaining about the suit. If you go on the Raimi threads the most common response to the suit is...i like it, it looks like the Raimi suit.

I think the Webb fans who thought the AMZ suit was better than the Raimi suit are the ones complaining that it looks like the Raimi suit, and they miss the sneakers and the lack of belt.

Not missing the sneakers, but I did miss the belt. My main problem is that they just abandoned everything that made the previous suit unique. The textures, the flat webbing, the spider symbol, just the overall sleekness of it all. Now it just looks like an improved Raimi suit, instead of an improved TASM suit.

The armpits are actually webbing. I thought that they were Nylon or something.

No, that would make it a twice improved TASM suit. :o Don't get me wrong, I liked the first suit, but looking at it next to this new beaut...no contest. The new suit is, almost literally, perfection. I can't express anymore how much I adore it. The suit alone amped my excitement 10 fold.

and who would be more upset about that...fans of Raimi or fans of Webb.

I am a Raimi fan and I love this suit. They eyes are perfection. This is Spider-man.

This perfectly explains the feelings of most people who are disappointed with the new suit. Instead of improving the foundation they laid out on TASM, they almost entirely ditched it and went back to basics.

I like the new eyes. The old ones were part of why I think of the first trilogy's Spidey as stiff, amongst other reasons. These feel more personable. More emotive and less off-putting than the Ditko-inspired ones. It's a good change.

I'll only be satisfied if they have a good explanation for the abandonment of the previous style.

I liked it from the first time I saw it. Thought it was a sleek and modern rendition of the Spider-Man suit.

I agree with most of this, but I'm one of the people who like the sneakers. If they had this in the final Webb movie I would have been more or less fine with it. They could have found a perfect balance between this costume and the first ASM costume and kept more elements from the ASM costume and I doubt there would have been as much complainers. Maybe we'll see the first ASM Costume though(I heard a poster on another Spider-man book that he saw the first ASM costume in a set shot so that gives me a little hope).

Did anybody here like the first ASM suit from the start?
It took me a little while to warm up to it, but once they released the behind the scenes shots of Spidey taking on the carjacker I instantly thought it was a better suit than Raimi's despite the liberties they took.

I always disliked the detail changes like the added lines on the legs, the waist line not going all the way to the front, the sneakers, etc. Just the minor details. Had they fixed that, to me, it would have been the perfect Spider-Man suit.

He looks almost perfect in shots like these, when you can't see the leg lines.

This, I liked how they made the costume speak and tried to make it more real world(sunglasses for Spidey lenses, sneakers for parts of the boots, etc)

I dunno, I thought that the track lines made sense in a aesthetic way.

Felt sort of high school track-and-field-y to me, which makes sense since he's a skateboarder in high school.

who?

The government, the corporations, schools, society?

are we actually living in the dystopian 1984 world of George Orwell?

I really liked TASM's suit. I liked the style of it, it was neat. I think the new one looks cool too. If they kept it the same then I wouldn't have mind.
