Sequels The Official The Lizard in Spider-Man 4 thread!

^^ Vermin fit greatly for Kravens Last Hunt though. He's not a terrible Villian, but I agree that he's defenitely not good for a Spidey film.

Vermin was just another villain for the sake of having another villain. Lizard would be an excellent replacement.

Regardless, I agree that Kraven's Last Hunt with the Lizard replacing Vermin would be the best for SM4.

Personally, I don't really want to see Kraven's last Hunt for Spidey 4, but if we ever got a Kraven's Last hunt story again, then I agree that the Lizard should replace Vermin.

The Lizard is significantly more powerful than Vermin however, so the story would need to be adjusted for that fact. Neither Kraven nor Spider-Man should be able to easily capture or subdue the Lizard.

You remember that scene from Spider-Man 2, you know, where Doc Ock kills a mess of people in the hospital? That was awesome. I still consider that one of the scariest scenes I've ever seen in a movie. I want at least ONE Lizard scene like that. He has to kill some College kids or something, like when he's escaping the University after he transforms for the first time.

For sure he needs to have nasty animal instincts, and more than anything, I want to see Lizard KICK THE CRAP out of Spider-Man, like slash him to a bloody mess. A scene like in part 3 where the New Goblin slices into Spidey and it looked like it hurt, but for fifteen minutes straight. He's one of Spidey's toughest villains to fight, so they need to use that.

The Lizard should have SOME humanity, but very little. When he's first transforming, in the process of it, Peter should be the only person present (he is Doctor Conner's lab assistant) and just when the Lizard is about to jump on Pete and kill him, he backs off because that last remaining part of Conner's brain hasn't transformed yet. And later when Spidey is trying to administer an antidote to the Lizard in the sewer, he should take off his mask and then Conners' brain will kick in and stop Lizard from killing Spider-Man.
Uh, yeah, but I have a few questions. Under the present juvenile conditions of the Spider-Man films, how will they actually make The Lizard kill? His weapons are not metal tentacles like Doc Ock, his weapons of choice are his sharp teeth and claws. How are they going to show that on screen, while Sam Raimi, Marvel and Sony continue to venture into CareBear Land with Spidey's movies?
Because, dude, Spider-Man is a family movie. Deal with it.
I've delt with it and it weakens the movies, I want something different. Dealing with it any further means the quality of these Spider-Man films will continue to dwindle. I call for Marvel and Sony to NOT treat Spider-Man as a family movie, and challenge themselves to produce something of complexity, maturity and substance.
Lizard can still be a killing machine.
Again I say:

Dude, this is just ******ed. You're exaggerating. Therefore, argument = void.
Yes, singing, dancing, too much crying, juvenile antics from college students, villains turning good, cute talking New Yorkers, one of Spidey's greatest villains reciting nursery rhymes (Itsy Bitsy Spider...) and looking like he's about to hear "it's morphin' time!" sure, it's all exaggeration. I'm making it all up.

It won't really do much to the storyline if he's not wearing the black costume, so...any other reason? With all due respect, that was kinda lame.

Well, the story would have to be dark. However, I would lobe to see aspects from Kraven's Last hunt in Spider-Man 4. Tbh, I would love to see Kraven's Last Hunt in a Spidey film, but I just don't think it will happen in Spider-Man 4.

Well, for maultiple reasons actually. One of them being that I don't really want to see Spidey wear a black suit right after a film where he had an alien black suit.
Thats a dumb reason, of course hes not going to wear the black suit, its not going to be a direct adaptation.

Not really, the black suit can easily be substituted for the red and blues. Its not an important aspect to the story.

I didn't think of that for some reason. I'm usually the one that always says things like that to my friend, lol. I think I'm losing my mind. Like I said in my last post though, I would love to see aspects from Kraven's last Hunt, but I don't think they will adapt the full story (Not including the black suit).

Lizard can use his sharp teeth and claws to kill people the same way that Ock's metal tentacles killed people in the hospital scene. That scene was really well-shot.

It's not about actually showing teeth rip into flesh and have blood squirting out, that's not really mature. It's all about the way the scene is shot. What's off-screen is usually worse than whatever they show you (because nothing can be more gruesome than the audience's imagination.)

Example: Joker cutting Gamble in the mouth. We never actually saw it, and we didn't need to.

Why do I feel like I'm the only one that never liked Mark Bagley?

Well, Bagley's not my favorite, but I did like his '90s stuff a lot more than McFarlane's. His version of the Lizard in that ASM #365 anniversary issue is one of the best.

You've gotta be kidding me!!! McFarlane's Lizard craps all over Bagley's. There was no definition to it. Thank God it was a great story.

I see you have a bright future ahead of you here on the hype :oldrazz:

McFarlane's Lizard from ASM #313 was pretty good (I actually own an original art page from that ish). But on the covers of Spider-Man 1-5, he made Lizard look more like some kind of alien than a Lizard. After McFarlane became super-popular, his art was all over the place. Great one panel, horrible the next - very inconsistent.
