I don't feel like going in this argument. Let me just say the comment I posted at the top of this page was equally stupid as your comment I quoted. Because ofcourse I respect you opinion on HP, I just don't share it.

Well they have done at least some kind of build up between Ron and Hermione. So the whole Lavender thing is a roundabout way of getting them together, although they will probably find some way around it.
I'm sure they will.

Yeah, and when Hermione herself explained what a Mudblood was, instead of Ron. Why? I have no idea. It makes Hermione look even smarter and just puts Ron in his place more.
Not a very good scene. Well, I should probably just come out right now and say that of all the Potter films, I hate the 2nd one with a passion that could melt Alaska, in part because I hated the 2nd book.

As for giving all of Hermione all of Ron's best stuff, I wonder if there's some lack of trust in Rupert Grint. I mean, everyone in the Potter PR department builds Grint up to be a great young actor, but rarely do they ever let him perform any good dramatic moments.

I am telling you, it's freaky. Next time you watch a Potter movie, especially GOF, watch her eyebrows. It's like she's trying to hypnotise you.
Would you believe me if I told you I have difficulty watching the Potter films all the way through? There's just something about the way they're put together that makes it difficult to watch repeatedly.

They should get rid of Michael Gambon and replace him with Ian Mckellen.

What problems do you have with it then?

The 2nd film is my least favourite out of the series so far. Also while I enjoyed the book, it's the one I find hardest to go back and reread because it doesn't hold my attention on the 2nd of 3rd read.

But to me and a lot of people, Grint is the best actor out of the child actors. If they can trust to give any dramatic moments to anyone, it should be him. Dan Radcliffe's dramatic moments are quite cringeworthy and Emma Watson doesn't seem to be able to do drama without going over the top.

I would believe that, I have heard a lot of people complain about them in that respect. I couldn't watch them all the time, but every now and again I can. Especially POA which I think is a fine film, depsite what they cut out of it.

I´ll confess, till Goblet Of Fire I was getting a bit bored with the Harry Potter franchise, the series really needed that turning point. I feel more excited about Order Of The Phoenix.

I agree. OotP has gotten me really hyped up for the past few weeks. Suffice to say, I strongly felt that GoF was missing something in the first half. Everything was unbelievably rushed.

But I really can't see what could possibly go wrong with OotP. We should be in for a great treat.

New 'Phoenix' set pics

Another batch of
Order of the Phoenix set pictures recently surfaced online, and although we've seen a couple of these before, they're in much higher quality. They show filming at Virginia Water, where, presumably, the scene in which McGonagall is attacked by Umbridge and co. is being shot. In the photos, we catch glimpses of Natalia Tena (Tonks), David Yates, Martin Bayfield (Hagrid's body double), Tom Felton (Malfoy), and Maggie Smith (Prof. McGonagall) reading The Daily Prophet which bears the headline, "He Who Must Not Be Named Returns."

Couldn't agree more...although perhaps I'd rather see Peter O'Toole in the role.

Richard Harris really was the best Dumbledore. Although, Michael Gambon was pretty good in PoA.

There was just something about book 2 that rubbed me the wrong way; it's hard to put into words. I couldn't get into the story, it just didn't draw me in. Please don't ask me to elaborate, or else I'll go into troll mode, and you don't want that.

Michael Gambon's Dumbledore... meh. He's okay I guess. Would have been nice if they could have gotten Peter O'Toole to play Dumbledore.

Oh there's plenty that could still go wrong. I personally don't think I am going to like the movie. Mainly it will be due to Dan Radcliffe's performance of Harry, personally. But there's still plenty that could go wrong regarding a lot of the movie.

Peter O'Toole was the person I wanted to take over after Harris' death. Would have been a lot better than Gambon if you ask me.

I kind of get what you mean. I was fine with it the first time I read it, the second time I started to experience what you did.

Meant to write back to that earlier - if Rupert Grint is the best actor out of the three leads, why don't they utilize him beyond being the Jar Jar Binks-esque comic relief? That's not a personal attack - just a simple question.

His acting has improved from PoA to GoF. I cringed during the whole "HE WAS THEIR FRIEND!" scene. I felt like I was watching a really bad sitcom. Fortunately, his grieving for Cedric in GoF was tolerable and much improved. At this stage, according to the news of which scenes will be in and which won't, I'm almost certain that OotP will surpass GoF. Seeing Thewlis, Oldman, Gleeson and, yes, even Thompson returning should be amazing. I'm a sucker for continuity.

Well obviously Dan has to be used as Harry, saying as Harry is the lead and it's his name on the movie title. Steve Kloves has said that Hermione is probably his favourite character, so she gets a lot of development time. When you are pushing those two, apparaently it's difficult to also develop Ron :s

Also Grint has shown a natural ability at comedy. Maybe they think that's all he can do and play to that.

The thing is, I hate the character of Harry in OOTP. He was a very dislikable person, he was literally the stropping teenager. Now that's all very well in books, but on screen I don't think it will translate too well. Dan isn't a good enough actor imo to make it come accross as something different other then whining and moaning like some struppy teenager. That's what I think I will have the problem with.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Set Report - King's Cross Station

by Matthew Vines
September 3, 2006
Day 104

At 6:30 this morning, film crews arrived at King's Cross Station in London and began setting up for an all-day (7am to 7pm) film shoot on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Platform 1 was closed off to the public, as was Platform 4 later in the morning when the Hogwarts Express arrived at the station. All filming throughout the day took place from Platforms 1 to 8, rather than actually in between Platforms 9 and 10, where there is now a cart pushed halfway into the wall and a large sign reading "Platform 9 ¾" above it.

As the Hogwarts Express pulled into King's Cross, crew members mounted ten "Platform 9 ¾" signs, many HP-esque suitcases and bags were placed near the train, and Brendan Gleeson arrived. Fifteen minutes later, Mark Williams showed up, followed by George Harris, Natalia Tena, Julie Walters, and then, at 9:15am, Daniel Radcliffe. From Dan's arrival till noon, the following scene was filmed:

Ext. Platform Nine and Three Quarters
Harry walks to Hogwarts Express; he sees Voldemort.
This is clearly a departure from the book, in which the nastiest person Harry sees at King's Cross is Lucius Malfoy. Although Ralph Fiennes wasn't on set, his double was, indicating that although we don't get a remarkably clear view of Voldemort in the scene, he is still there in the flesh rather than just a disturbing vision of Harry's.

In the scene filmed today, Dan simply walked along the Hogwarts Express as the conductor's whistle blew and steam billowed out.

Around 12:45pm, the filming crew broke for lunch, and the rest of the cast (Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Bonnie Wright, and James & Oliver Phelps) apparently arrived within the next half hour, as I watched them all hop into a studio shuttle and leave the station a little past 1:30.

When filming resumed after lunch, the doubles for Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Fred & George, Mrs. Weasley, Mr. Weasley, Tonks, Mad-Eye Moody, and Shacklebolt began rehearsing a scene on the footbridge that connects Platform 8 to Platform 1, which was also closed off to the public today. The scene that they were filming is as follows:

Ext. Platform - Bridge
Moody, Tonks, Shacklebolt, and the Weasleys escort Harry; black dog arrives; Moody is cross.

At 4:00, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright, James & Oliver Phelps, Julie Walters, Mark Williams, Natalia Tena, Brendan Gleeson, and George Harris came back to the station to actually shoot the scene. Also at that time, Hedwig, Crookshanks, Pigwidgeon, and Sirius (the dog) made their grand entrances, accompanied by their respective trainers. (Interestingly, the two rats that play Scabbers and their trainer were also on set, but weren't included in the scene.)

For the next few hours, Dan & Co. followed this general schedule: filming and quite a bit of standing around for 45 minutes, then a 15 minute break (during which the actors' doubles stood in for them), another 45 minutes of filming followed by another 15 minute break, and so on. During the less exciting moments in front of the camera (whenever the crew set up for a different angle), caterers brought out all sorts of snacks and sweets, and many young passerby shouted, "Look, Mum, it's Harry Potter!" when they realized what was going on above them.

Around 7:00, the crew began packing up, Daniel Radcliffe and the doubles left, and the day drew to a close.

The following props were spotted at the station today: Harry's glasses, an Order of the Phoenix photograph, 20 station trolleys, two wheel barrows, two sack barrows, animals' cages, students' trunks and bags, students' parcels, stuffed owls, stuffed rats and cats, Muggles' bags and suitcases, Daily Prophets, Daily Expresses, the Hogwarts Express front light, and umbrellas.

It's possible that you will see behind-the-scenes footage from today on the OOTP DVD, as EPK crews were on set to shoot "B" roll footage and interviews.

Quite a few pictures from today's shoot can be seen at our galleries, and videos are on the way as well!

The hell? Voldemort at King's Cross?!

I need a beer...

Voldemort is at Kings Cross?!

What is this ridiculousness?!

Please, let him be a hallucination as a result of Harry's increased paranoia. Or let him be nothing, that'd be loads better. I wish they would stop trying to add nonsense just for the sake of it already.

Nonetheless, hearing news of Gleeson shooting makes my heart jump with glee (bad pun intended).

I doubt they'd do something like that, Harry displayed minimal signs of paranoia in OOTP and that was right at the begining if the book. I doubt it'd go so far as to seeing Voldy there.

You never know. They made the Hungarian Horntail dragon chase Harry around Hogwarts just for sake of showing unnecessary Hollywood special effects in GoF. Who's to say they won't do the unpredictability schtick this time?

That's true, but I actually liked the Horntail scene in GOF, that atleast made some sense as to it's inclusion. I cannot possibly see what sense this would make.

Anyone notice Kingsley Shacklebolt in the photos? He looks pretty cool.
