It's certainly possible, that is one of them doesn't die, the other will.

Too be honest, I would prefer Neville to stay alive rather then Harry.

Obviously Neville will have some kind of impact in the finale, I would reckon killing/defeating Bellatrix, but that's only a theory.

i think you're right when you say he has a big finale thing, but defeating bellatrix? I dunno.

He'll be avenging his parents IMO somehow

But, why Neville or Harry?

The prophecy says:

"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches...born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies...and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not...and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives...the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..."

Neville doesn't has to die because Voldemort didn't mark him as his equal.

Exactly!

The Lestrange's were invloved with Neville's parents, just thought it'd be a way to tie the whole thing together. I am just thinking, Harry is going to be having a lot on his plate as it is, he can't defeat everyone. Therefore, other people are going to have to join in, just looking at unresolved plot threads and seeing if there will be a conclusion. This one, I can see having that conclusion.

I would kill for Del Toro to do the final Harry Potter movie, or even to have Cuaron back. Two of my favorite film makers these days, so to have one of them do the last, well I couldn't think of anyone better.

If JK decides to kill off Harry, that's up to her. She created the character, and really if she does, the death would have been there from the begining.

Personally, I am not too bothered. Harry has never been a favorite of mine, so it wouldn't bother me greatly, as long as the book was great.

Yes, me too. Del Toro would be a great choice. He would make a very dark movie.

Ever since year four however people having been killed off like flies

It's getting darker and darker.

del Toro would be a good choice because he would have it dark, but also colourful. People suggested Tim Burton. Sure, he'd be dark, but it'd monochromatic...

The thing about Tim Burton is, he always does his version of thing, never takes something directly from the source. I am sure h would want to twist it in some way (which is fine to me if that's what the rest of the series was like), but for the final movie, it would seem kinda weird.

Is this anyone elses least favorite book? It felt like filler between the next book, so did the sixth book but at least it wasn't as bad.

Order is my least favorite book out of the series, it was a tad too long for one thing. Plus Harry annoyed the hell out of me in the book and I didn't really enjoy reading it.

Book 6 was a kind of filler to the last book, but I enjoyed due to finding out so much about Voldy.

The first one is my least favorite, and then Order of The Phoenix. But they are all great anyway.

The one that I find the hardest to reread is COS, I have no idea why, but once you read it once, it gets kinda boring.

Well it's a mystery, JKs second book, so she was still finding her writing style...and I must admit it wasn't the best written mystery novels...that's why it's sort of boring

Yeah, true enough. Although I still enjoy reading PS to this day. POA was where she really hit her stride.

Chamber of Secrets and POA was the only books that actually made me feel fear at some points (the random attacks in COS, and the sirius black invasions in POA) GOF made me angry and OOTP and HBP are really suspensful because of the ever looming threats, but till this day the only legitimate fear ive ever felt reading a Potter book was in 2 and 3.

I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here but it doesn't say it has to be a physical mark. Voldemort definitely left a mark on Neville's life more emotionally than Harry.

Rowling has already thrown this theory out the door a million times.

If Rowling pulled that out of her hat...shes a terrible writer.

Agreed, Neville being the one the prophecy speaks of would joke a cop out, plain and simple. The books are called Harry Potter, not Neville Longbottom.

Thats what made it my least favorite in the series, even Rowling made him like that in the book, still found it very annoying.

Well you forget that this is HER work. She can write whatever the hell she wants.

And she has already said the Neville will not kill Voldemort and was not the one in the prophecy, so as much as people would like to see what isn't there (i.e. Neville being the chosen one, Harry/Hermione romance, etc)...it just isn't the case.
