WTF is OOPT the shortest movie?

I think it's either one of the following scenarios:

- The WB pressured David Yates to deliver a film under 2 1/2 hours because of Grindhouse's failure at the box office (which was a 3 hour movie)
- David Yates thought the finished product was as good as it is
- The script was supposedly 120 pages long (but then Goldenberg was constantly revising and adding on to the script during shooting) and very little was cut from the final film

OOTP is no longer the shortest film. thesnitch.co.uk updated their site yesterday to state that Warner Brothers released a statement saying that the runtime with credits is 150 minutes. The 138 minute runtime is without credits. It is now the length of Sorcerer's Stone/Philosopher's Stone.:)

I don't care about the runtime, as long as I love the hell out of this movie.

Well I was excited for this movie but now looking at the runtime i'm not so sure.

I think this might surprise us now. Just looking at Ginny there... something about that look that I've never seen from her before. i wonder if she has a bigger role this time...

^Hopefully she will. As long as these movies stay over 2 hours it will be ok. Like I said earlier...there is a lot of stuff in this book that can be seen as tedious or overabundant. There is a substantial amount of time taht takes place at Grimmauld's place. While some important stuff happens there (Kreacher, OOTP meeting, Sirius background, and the foreboding boggart, a lot can be omitted and keep the movie good IMO.

Anybody else find Lily a bit...disappointing? I find her not pretty enough :(

Lilly's cute enough, but it does seem that the movies are shying away from using gorgeous actresses to play the prettier characters from the books.

Maybe Emma Watson has something in her contract stating that she has to be the prettiest teenage girl in all the HP movies.

Even as I read it this book, it felt bloated and could have been edited down far less. The highlights will of course be the big fight at the end. Beyond that, this is memorable for Harry's break up with Cho. I'm loving how Ginny's up front on the Imax image while cho's wwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay in the back, ha ha ha.

Probably.

^Well Cho betrays Harry in the movie, something they changed from the book. Sounds to me like Cho gets a really bad wrap in the movie...even though she was a needy b**** in the book.

In case you guys didn't know, Warner Brothers and Orlando Florida are teaming up to deliver "Wizarding World of Harry Potter", which will open late 2009/early 2010. So those rumors of a Harry Potter theme park have panned out after all.

And yes, Stuart Craig and J.K. Rowling are involved with the theme park ride to make sure it fits the vision of the books and films. We'll be able to go into Hogsmeade, venture into the Forbidden Forest and visit Hogwarts. There will also be themed rides and attractions as well.

Here's the first designs of the park:

Guys..Without credits the potter movies are as follows:

Philosophers Stone: 145 minutes

Chamber of secrets: 153 minutes

Prisoner of Azkaban: 135 minutes

Goblet of fire: 144 minutes

Order of the phoenix: 138 minutes.

It is only second shortest..and goblet of fire handled everything well with only a 6 minute longer running time..6 minutes is nothing.

Plus i dont know if you guys have read Order of the Phoenix, but so much stuff in that book wouldnt work in movie form...not because the parts arent cinematic, but because including everything would make the film feel repetitive and possibly convoluted, they are slimming the book down to the key points, like they did with goblet of fire and prisoner of azkaban..which i think, cinema wise are the best in the series.

Dont worry.

I hope they'll have Fred&George's joke shop or Zonko's in Hogsmeade :D

Pretty happy that its in Orlando and not at Universal Hollywood :D
