The better-than expected advance buzz for Transformers has given some of the TF fans greater confidence that it might actually provide hard box office competition for HP: OOTP, but I think they're not taking into account the ginormous HP book hype right around the corner.
Well, Transformers were popular and a huge fan bas long before Harry Potter was even a blink in the eyes of book publishers, but then again, Harry Potter is a more recent thing in pop culture, so that could work to Potter's advantage.
Even if TF ended up being an all-around excellent high quality film (which is impossible for a Michael Bay movie), I think that the US and Japan might be the only countries where it could compete with HP.
As it is, I'm guessing around $250-$275 mil for TF and $300-$325 for HP domestic.

Deathly Hallows would sell more copies than a new Transformer comic. Harry Potter may be more recent, but the fanbase is already larger than TF. Potter will easily handle TF worldwide.
GoF made $290 Mil domestic in 05 and the highest grossing Potter film(Stone) made $317 Mil Domestic. Both of these were released in the winter when there was no competition, so I doubt Order will make much over $300 Million. There's way too much competition this summer. While I am glad the film is being released relatively soon, it would probably have better if it were released in Nov or Dec(idk, but Fantasy films seem to fit better in the Winter).
Also, the poorest performing Potter film was released in the summer. The others(all released in the winter) made over $800 Million WW. So while I do see Order making over $800 WW, I don't think it'll make over $300 in America.
the Dumbledore vs. Voldemort one-on-one, and if so, could you describe please? (how long, how cool, etc.) and also, I think I know the answer to this, but thought I'd ask just in case they changed it for the movie, does Dumbledore live?

Yes it had the fight. though it was a little short..but i mean its good.
Basic run down:
Pretty much like the book..Dumbeldore walks in on Voldemort and Harry, he talks to voldemort, he refers to him as Tom which i thought was great .
They duel and its similar to the harry voldemort duel from goblet of fire..spells appear to connect at times. Dumbeldore also does some crazy spells, and Voldemort makes a fire snake and does other cool things.
Dumbeldore forces voldemort into the ministry fountain like the book...then they think he's gone then harry gets possessed (basically his eyes change colours) He sees flashes of scenes from movies 1 to 5, basically voldemort is making harry relive his worst moments, then he speaks through harry and says something along the lines of "you are a weak old man" to dumbeldore. Then Harry gets a little bit of control and starts flashing visions of ron and hermione and family in his head and says something like "you dont know the meaning of friends, i feel sorry for you" . Voldemort is forced out..then thats it. Best scene in the movie and honestly my favourite ending so far in the movies.
I might be missing details..it is a fast paced scene.
And there was a picture flowing around that Harry whipped his wand out in front of Dudley's friends. Did the friends get a memory charm cast on them, did the dementor attack make them forget, did they think it was just a stick!? What?
Well the 5th film is pretty much a continuation of the 3rd and 4th, I just liked it better then them. The second one is very much a film of nostalgia for me, I admit that from a cinematic standpoint 3 is a better film, it just is not my favourite.
Sort of..shes got a bigger part, shes usually present in a lot of scenes thanks to the DA and stuff, one moment that stands out is she gives cho and harry a jealous look in the ROR.

The death was well shot, Bellatrix shoots avada kedavra at sirius and his eyes turn white and he is sort of..almost lifted into the veil and then harry starts screaming..there isnt much of a bellatrix sirius duel though like in the books, she just kinda kills him
Its handled way better then the death in movie 4. When he pulls his wand out they just all laugh and think hes a loony..and no one sees the dementors cept Harry and Dudders, after Harry gets expelled from hogwarts the dursleys leave to take dudley to the hospital so there is no howler, or talk of what the dementors are or that Voldemort is back.

Yah its avada kedavra, i always thought the point of sirius dying was cuz he fell through the veil and didnt get killed by a spell..but its pretty clear he was killed by bellatrix...so yaaaa...the veils in the film though he flies through it.
