i just got back, and i loved it!

the best one so far, in my opinion... i gave it a 9. the special effects were spotty in one or two um... spots, and my god, i hated delores umbridge. i mean, i know we were supposed to, but jeebus, she made me like, physically angry. i was actually in a bad mood while watching the movie just by how unfair everything was.

it's been a year or so since i've read the book, so i don't have the wherewithal to say what was changed, or excluded, but it seemed like a pretty faithful adaptation.

and i hated the way graup looked. he looked like ang lee's incredible hulk mixed with the mad magazine guy.

oh, and i didn't care at al for the way that girl played luna lovegood. i couldn't stand her. she was a very poor actress.

and i would have loved to have seen harry apologize to cho, after finding out that she was under the veritas serum when she betrayed the d.a.

and i liked ginny's look of slight jealousy when harry went back to talk to cho after their meeting.

i liked dumbledore much more this time around, too. i haven't liked the new actor that's been playing him, and still don't like him as much as the first guy, but he was much, much better in this movie.

and yeah... those are my random thoughts having just got back.

^Yea I didn't like the way Grawp looked either. But this movie is still fantastic. I wish they would have had more money to make the Centaurs look fantastic and give some close up shots of them instead of them being in the dark most of the time. The troll in the first movie looked better IMO that Grawp. The giants are suppose to be menacing...not funny looking. Oh well, minor annoyance.

I just got back from seeing it in IMAX. I thought the last 20 min was done really well. The only thing though is that I was kind of sitting low and to the side, and it was my first ever IMAX show, and i'm not sure if it messed some things up. I thought if you sat higher it looks like its coming at you more?

I'm faithful in the ability of the Warner Bros makeup department to tart up Bonnie Wright if necessary. However they might not bother. If Fleur was no big deal in the looks department, I don't know how much effort will be put into sexing up Ginny.

The film is mostly nothing but talking so I´m puzzled as to why they are showing it through IMAX 3D :whatever: just the last part of the movie is suppose to be 3D so it seems odd to me

I saw it in IMAX today, and it was amazing.
The final duel was awe-inspiring in 3D.
I'm probably gonna see it again, some of the stuff was hard to distinguish in the 3D section.

Saw it again today and it is even better the second go around.

Things that irked me:
1)Dolores wasn't the cause of the dementors attacking Harry. I thought that was a great part of the book showing how evil she is and the means she will take to get Harry out of Hogwarts and dismiss him as a liar. There really wasn't any big twist in this movie like there has been in all the others. Dolores confessing to being the cause of the dementors was a big twist indeed in the book.
2)No mention as to why Harry's broom is gone. They could have just taken their brooms to London instead of the Thestrals. To add to that, Ron, Hermione, and Neville cannot see them and they I guess just hopped onto the invisible flying monster horse with ease and no discomfort. Again, this was adressed in the book.
3)Grawp just looked dumb and goofy. Giants are fearful, menacing creatures. Grawp's look was just too dumb. I guess they were running out of money from the great special effects from other things.

Overall, 9.0/10.0 or 3/4
Other wise, this movie has great acting, great visuals, great fx, great casting, and overall a great story to boot. Well done Yates...I do just wish it was a bit longer to give more explanations and some breathing room between all the plots.

^It didn't deserve a 2 or 3. Some people on here are so childish sometimes it seems.

Are you insane? This is an amazingly dumb post.
You think this movie was on par with Uwe Boll's work? A 2/10 is a horrible rating and just a childish attempt at attention. This movie wasn't perfect, non are, yet a non-cinematical hermit could distinguish a truly terrible film from an ok or good movie. It's just like the sad rabid fans that gave Spider-Man 3 a 1 because it didn't go the way they wanted it. Please never become a film reviewer.

Why do they have the lower numbers if people aren't allowed to vote on them:huh:
Who said you couldn't vote them? I just think it is dumb to give a movie that had so many right things such a low number. People that do that are usually angry fanboys or just want attention and I give it to them. What didn't you like about it? In an honest cinematical standpoint, you think this movie is worse that most of Uwe Boll's attrocities or Catwoman or Gigli?

First of all, stop writing paragraphs when a sentence will do. Second, be less of a prick. Third, repeat the first two steps. Fourht, repeat jsut step 2. Fifth, I didn't see Either of those movies. Sixth, and this is very important, I gave it a three becasue the movie was dumb.

Nice explanation. I can see where you get your cinematical prowess from and your back story into why you rated it as such. Second, learn how to spell:huh:

You would be a hit as a reviewer in a news column.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
3/10 "Because it was dumb."

ginny is never suposed to be drop dead gorgeous. its more about her attitude and humor. she is pretty, and so is the actress, but no more so than cho is suposed to be. as for hermione, book four showed us that when she puts effort into it she is really quite pretty. most of the time its not her concerne though. i think emma watson was a good choice.

Finally...after failed attempts to get last minute tickets to midnite shows all week...I got IMAX tickets tonite! Can't wait!
