The Official TIH Merchandise Thread

Went by target today and looks like all of the Hulk stuff has been marked down..before the movie has even been released!
That not good. Means people aren't buying the stuff! In other words, kids aren't interested. The did have that Target exclusive figure marked at about a dollar off. Goes any lower, I may have to break down and get it.

yeah my local k-mart
had 15 percent off all hulk toys

too bad they only had the bad looking first wave

Gee, maybe they are not moving because they look like crap?

They look like the worst series of figures to be released from any Marvel movie, including the small scale but still decently detailed and articulated SM3 figures. There are McDonalds Batman: TAS figures from 100 years ago that blow these out of the water. Most of the Hulks have an eye on his cheek, his face is a squished lime and five years ago he had a badass, super-articulated movie figure. I thought the SSM figures were bad, was disappointed by the blandness and paleness of Stark's face (and all recent Hasbro face molds) but still bought an IM figure, but these toys are a slap in the face to children, collectors, the Hulk, plastic, store shelves and most importantly, America. That anyone would pay ten dollars for one of them means I have got to kill myself immidiantly out of confusion. I don't belong or want to belong in a world like this.

things will pick up after the movie comes out.. and besides, is a discount that bad?

the general economy may account for the price reduction.. think about it..

I'll get some hulk hands..

i also want some 3x 4x tshirts..

i wonder if they'll be giving anything away at the advanced screening tonight...i'll let you guys know if they do.

The big stand-up at Blockbuster is awesome. Looks good guarding my TV.

Kids don't like crap. They can make that in the potty.

Fantastic post!

And for the people worrying about Target's discount: The week the movie comes out, put them on sale, then after people see the movie and go ga-ga and want toys, they think, "Wal-Mart...oh, wait, no! Target has them cheaper! Let's go there!" It's not as dumb as you think, and it doesn't necessarily mean that the toys aren't selling.

However, it absolutely does not change the fact that the figures look like the love child of Hulk and a bulldog with Downs Syndrome.

I'm considering getting that Target exclusive figure. It looks pretty cool. About how much is it?

I think a lot of people will be surprised by the low opening weekend unfortunately. It has no hype in the real world and people are confused by it. Don't ever underestimate the stupidity of people.

I expect a 25-30 million opening now. The best thing it can hope for is good word of mouth and a small drop the second weekend.

I dunno, I know a lot of people who wanna see it. I think part of it depends on where you live. And I like how you said never underestimate the stupidity of people, because that's what's going to get butts in seats in my part of Texas (Dallas county). All through high school and college, I never go a weekend without hearing some idiot in the hall talking about how they wanna see (insert $hitty horror movie of the week here) really bad and they are gonna go see it with all their friends, blah blah blah. Then they come back and are either disappointed or mildly satisfied. If people will pay to see stupid stuff like The Eye, I guarantee they will come in droves to see TIH. Fortunately, from what we've heard, TIH is awesome, so it will be enjoyable for everyone. :woot:

Considering that Edward NORTON plays Bruce Banner in TIH, I found this promotion with Norton Anti-Virus software to be rather ironic...
They ran a similar promotion during the release of American History X.

No Hulk toys @ Burger King in Charlotte NC as of today

Box office tracking suggests otherwise, mate. As of the last week or so, awareness is at an all time high. TIH looks set to put a dent into Iron Mans opening weekend. We shall see.

Did anyone see the Burger King Hulk commercial yet? I just saw it on Cartoon Network.

Got my free Hulk goodie bag from woolworths today containing, poster, comic and watch.
