I spend far too much time getting my smileys right. LOL
Completely missed James' post. Ah vell. ;)

We'd have to assume Schneider's stats are correct to get an over 6'3" height though.
It doesn't really require saying, but JS is TALL. That man is at least 6'2, which at a minimum would put Tom at 6'3.

How's that? Can I have a cookie? :D
Today I have biscuits. :D

Agreed. Personally, I'm starting to gravitate to the a-little-over 6'3" belief just because he really does seem to tower over everybody.

There's a scene near the end of Asylum that cracks me up every time. Clark visits Lex at the mansion after Lex's shock treatment at Somerholt. They talk for a brief bit, and Clark is relieved to find out that Lex is seemingly okay. When he turns to leave, Lex says "there's one thing I'll always remember," which makes Clark nervous. Clark turns around and asks "what's that." We see Clark from the back, and Lex walks across the floor, stopping right in front of Clark.

Welling must not have realized they both were in the frame, because when Rosenbaum gets within five feet or so, Welling slouches down at the knees in order to deemphasize the height difference and make it easier for the cameraman to get both heads in close-up. I roar laughing at this EVERY time cause it's SO bloody obvious. How the editor didn't catch that blooper is beyond me.

Another scene for comparison is when Clark leads Lana by hand through the crowded club in Metropolis in Exile. The camera follows them as they meander their way past a few hundred extras to get to the bar. Welling was so noticeably bigger than most of the other people in that scene, I've often wondered if it was by design.

Today I have biscuits. :D
Hey, that works, though I've already had a bagel this morning. Oh well. ;)

I posted this cap over in a spoiler thread last night, so I'll re-post it here just in case there are folks who avoid spoilers. This one is from my impressionistic era LOL!!

Took long enough. ;)

A fairly average-sized human skull is around a foot tall, so if somebody stands next to you and only comes up to your chin you can be fairly sure of being at least a foot taller than they are.

Annette and Kristin are both around the 5'3 mark, and often wear 2+ inch heels. And they still barely hit Tom's chin. Jamie I would put at around 5'8-5'9, again with heels - and she's about six inches shorter. Michael's around 5'11-6', and even he's a good four or five inches shorter.

John and Tom are more difficult because one or two inches can be pretty well hidden depending on camera angle...

Someone else mentioned this and I didn't notice it... there's nothing on TV tonight, I must just have to trot out my third season DVD set and take another gander at that ep...

How I will suffer! ;)

Prolly did...

I thought James was talking cookies since Biscuit is the English word for cookie....

What do the English call what we call biscuits anyways?

They're not really scones or buns...

[slaps head] Ooopz! You're probably right. So do they call it a "chocolate chip biscuit" then? Just wondering.

You know I hate Ben Affleck but I think he took down some walls in Hollywood about very tall leading men. Now we have Hugh Jackman also. I'm glad Tom's height won't hold him back.

Hee. Oddly enough we we do have cookies as well... the term cookie is reserved for crumbly, nummy biscuits that do tend to have chocolate chips in them. So yeah, chocolate chip cookies.

I'm hungry.

So, what do you call what we call Biscuits? (They're not the same as scones, although you can get scones here if you know where to go...)

Do you know the kind I mean? They're made with flour, butter and buttermilk, usually we eat them at breakfast...

We either serve them with butter and jelly or at times with a cream and sausage gravy... The sausage gravy is more of a southern thing, I think. But I'm from Virginia, so it follows.. ;)

What part of a Virginia?
I'm a native Virginian myself.

Well, I'm not native (born in Jersey, but my family moved to Virginia when I was about 6 months old) but I lived southwest of Richmond and later my hubby taught at William and Mary and we lived near Williamsburg then.

I loved Williamsburg, it was nice living closer to my family since we had been in Cali before that, but he was miserable. The atmosphere there was wicked political and he wasn't up to playing their games. I even worked for six months at Colonial Williamsburg.

I loved that job and was sorry when I had to leave it to move to Colorado.

Probably the closest thing is a plain, savoury scone.

Yum, cherry scones...

(This is an abstract subject for discussion. lol)

Scones are drier than biscuits and not as doughy, I wonder if that's the buttermilk... some Southern recipes actually call for lard instead of butter.

Check your cholesterol count at the door when eating those, please. Especially if you're fond of sausage gravy with those biscuits... ;)

Cool. I was born in the Shenandoah Valley. I moved to Hampton Roads in high school. Now I live in Maryland.

It really just sounds like a slight variant scone recipe - scones over here can have lard, buttermilk, margarine, or pretty much anything you like. As long as the basic recipe is the same we just call it a scone. I used to make them with a teeny bit of golden syrup; mmm yummy.

I just think a scone discussion in a Tom Welling thread is a little surreal. No biggie. lol

The other two triplets live in Maryland, near B-more but up further near the shore of the Cheasapeake...

Well, there have been physical and psychological studies correlating proclivities between various food preferences and levels of sexual arousal...

[Slowly backs out of thread.]

I have NO idea what you mean.

*whistles*

(Maybe you should explain it before somebody asks? ;) I'm too innocent to know what you refer to.)

I think I kinda get it, but wouldn't mind an explanation...

Well, y'know, there are actually dozens of different things that I could have meant. Most of them not too bad, actually... but then I'm not entirely sure which of those things I did mean. Honestly, I confuse myself all the time.

Pat will tell me what I meant, I'm sure. And if she gets it wrong or tries to make me look bad (or worse than I already do, at least), I'll shoot her with a nerf gun.
