The comments about Tom have been far, far worse than "He needs a nose job" or "his teeth are yellow." But you've never linked any of those posts in order to cause trouble in the way you did Pat's. You've been around SHH! for years, so you must be aware that the Welling bashing over the years has far exceeded (in both viciousness and frequency) anything that has been said about Routh? You've even parcipated in some of it yourself.
It's this kind of thing that has caused many of the Smallville/Welling fans to stop posting on the Supes forum and, to a lesser extent, BT. There's bashing of Tom over there to this day, but if someone goes over there to be negative about Routh they're picked off like a fly. And then when they comment on that, they're told they're imagining it. Nobody's imagining anything, and now there's indisputable evidence to prove it.
Ok you seen what I done, I acknowledge wholeheartly. In the instance of the anti-Welling posts prior my modship, my unpleasant avatar and that BT post.
In fact I have taken my account out at BT, having it reset and retired as a token of promise it wont happen there I can pm still at most but I dont plan to post. If I didnt mention anything I probably forgot unintentional. Most times other people would not even think about doing anything like this. Keep mind of this when you read through whole post, I am not painting me or anyone else innocent.

You are right about one thing Welling does get more flack than Routh. Lets paint more of the picture shall we?
The height of the "
Welling Wars" was around Late 2003- Late-August. But the problem is most of the other mods, (ie; Superman) were never promoted during this influx. To have equal consideration during such a period when Superman / C. Lee (who frequent moreso than the ones in the past) were never moderators would be nearly impossible for ALL those months.
Post of Routh and when Superman (mod) took over few anti-Welling gloating threads did not last very long. To consider all that is done in the past is ridiculous impossible. Having to surf through all that pile of garbage to hold people accountable would be not fun.
It was a vicious cycle, hardly anyone was innocent. A pushed B AND B pushed A. Vicious cycle like I said.
Without naming names, certain people never went to extremes, but the quantity of propaganda in there from a year ago was
mind boggling. I still have residual information from that. Like the 75% from the MSNBC poll, the whole public wanting him more angle and thus should be accounted for and how he looks like Reeve.
I still remember Mirko getting bashed for not putting Welling in the front page poll, a bloody ****ing poll. To have a different choice for Superman walking down the Superman forum, was like dressing up in a clown suit and walking down Hells Kitchen with sign I have money slapped on the back.
Welling fans were invading other threads of people (Henry Cavill) who were making a push for and selling the "
Welling Word". I still remember those homoerotic Bomer and Dean Cain pictures. I still remember the spinning. The consistency of these "invasions" was what provoked the likes of JcDc to arise. It was hard to spot to these invasions and it was an ingenius tactic, almost like an online version of guerrilla warefare. You can post your information in a thread and most people wouldnt realize given the deceiving title. Some attempted this tactic but the success ratio and burning down threads is no where near the Welling stuff; they tried but you guys mastered this tactic. The numbers simply outweighed this - especially in support.
I have been here for 3 years approximately. It would be the first time I EVER at the hype, seen anything that borderline an online cult of that size of an organization. I seen massive support - I was at the Batman forums (I am a Batman fan first), Bale had real
support. But the organization and means of getting support, it will NEVER top the stuff I saw at Superman and Tom Welling. I have asked others who were here much longer and they can attest to this fact. I dont think it will ever topped (hopefully).
I still remember the one thread that seemed to cross borders between anyone was that one lone I am making a teaser trailer thread. That was one of the brighter spots to me that I remember, where everyone got along. It ended up getting spawned into a site, hell a Welling fan was accredited for coming up with the name.
A thread like Tom Welling Should have been Superman takes the cake for me. You know how hard I biting my tongue not to offer rationales to get closed down behind your backs? It sets up extremely poor precedence. If a thread like this continue on even when the casting issue was addressed already, it deserves flack, it is to me no different from a "Tom Welling is NOT Superman". Criticism and scrutiny must be expected with a thread like that. I was hoping with "that post" in BT, some fanboys would come in and defend but I guess were too cowardly to face the music and bashed Pat from there.
What actually split the group, was the choice of Routh, not because of poor Welling getting bashed only. Pro-Routh went to BT, Wellingites went to Smallville in this thread primarily and the mixed people + some Pro-Routh people (ie; JcDc) stayed behind. When Superman arrived and more order was instilled, that was when I notice a mass decline in the Wellings pseudo organization that and the fact Singer wanted an unknown and made it known. That was how I saw the entire thing. I am not saying us non-Welling people are innocent hardly (I even admit my wrongdoings and others), but if you tell me poor Welling supporters got bashed far worse and are less guilty. That biggest load of bull and you know it. Look at the whole for once, the amount of people from various camps alienated from the Welling push was what created sum or massive support for Routh. Is it any surprising a lot of the supporters for Routh came from Cavill/Bomer/Caviezel etc... supporters? That is WHY Routh seems to have less flack, because of this build-up for over a year or so.
Please dont think I am generalizing this group. I know some of you did not participate in those little activities. Some of you I have respect greatly, despite the different preference. In fact one of you guys I nominated and made a push for modship in two forums (I think you know who you are). This position remains unchanged.
You can rip apart my little reply, break it down, anal-yze it to death. Save yourself the time and trouble and please just don't - I do not want stir up old crap. My point is, if I can acknowledge my wrongdoings, how about the others do the same regarding those days of Welling propaganda (edit;
BOTH AGAINST AND FOR) and we stop pointing fingers? Is it possible to move on now - that Welling will never be Superman in a movie? Sure there are others who wont do it (same people who caused you folks some grief) but do you want sink to that? I am over with pointing fingers now - after that BT incident. I needed this release.
