Days of Future Past The official X-men First Class BD/DVD thread

I'm surprised people freaked out about this, IMO it's better to have a deleted scene that should have been deleted from the film as opposed to ones that shouldn't.

Lighten up. Vaughn shot an over-the-top, silly scene. Big deal. It didn’t make it into the film. I swear, some of you guys have no fun in you…

Seriously! I thought that scene was pretty damn hysterical, myself... :funny:

2 weeks from today in the U.S.! Can't wait! If I quote movies, that's a good sign, and that's all I done with this movie. I loved Magneto's dialogue.

I believe they want the Wolverine scene to be the funniest, so they cut this scene out. It would have been the most hilarious !

No, it would have screwed up the tone of the film.

I'm glad Dragneto didn't make it into the movie. But, of course, the mainstream audience might have liked it, it's hard to tell. As a deleted scene, it's fine. Would have been even better if it was a deliberate bit of goofing around.

Some humour in comic book adaptations is fine but you have to be careful or it looks like you are not taking the material seriously, which provokes the anger of fans and starts pushing the film towards satire.

I could even have done without the Wolverine cameo.

(Not that this is to do with humour, but I also think the film would have still been great without seeing a young Storm in the Cerebro sequence).

Take a look at the amazing Blu-Ray special edition we'll get in Brazil! :wow:

wow!!

that looks badass!!!

Charles looks AMAZING.... Eric a bit cartonish...

but the two faces cover is GREAT!

James's face looks distorted on that DVD cover. It looks like a completely different person.

the covers make the movie posters look like crap in comparison :D

I don't know just how much control he had over this movie... but I fear for an X-Men movie in which Vaughn is given absolute free reign.

If I recall right, FilmNerdJamie said that Fox actually left the X-Men: First Class production alone and let Vaughn and the producers make the film they set out to do. It wasn't as if Tom Rothman was constantly critiquing and forcing 'suggestions' for the film.

As for the DVD release, it seems like us Americans get stuck with a 22-minute featurette. It's better than a completely no-frills package, but a commentary by Vaughn and co-writer Jane Goldman plus a gag reel would be great.

It's a true shame First Class didn't do better at the BO.

Fox pretty much guarantees a profit once they greenlight sequels for X-Men: First Class and Rise of the Apes. Not if, when. I can pretty much guarantee the sequels will double the domestic grosses of their predecessors just on carryover of goodwill alone.

I expect Fox to greenlight an X-Men: First Class sequel by the end of the year, for a summer 2013 release. Same for an Apes sequel.

Wolverine will likely be heading for a 2013 release. I doubt there would be 2 X-Men properties in the year (as much as I'd love it)

NOOO...i think i cant wait 2 years to see an x-men movie and three or more years to Second Class. I wanted to see Wolverine late 2012 and 2nd Class Summer 13.

Hey, guys. I've got a real stuff for: a whole bunch (for the ones who concern - 13) of deleted/extended scenes. I ripped them off from the Blu-ray image that has been floating around the Internet for a few days. So, just follow the link. Sorry, no embed players (YouTube will just block you if you upload any of these scenes to it).

Does anyone know what is the running time from the complete Children of the atom feature? curiosity..
It's around 10 min. Kinda short to my regret.
