The Plot Holes in Spider-Man 3

And how about the huge plot hole in the entire trilogy: Spiderman has the exact same voice as peter parker yet nobody ever notices????

He did the same fighting Flash thompson and co in Spiderman 1. So by now Peter knows that in the Raimiverse few people can put two and two together.

Besides the numerous plot holes regarding the symbiote, spidey sense, and harry's story.

WTF why would spidey forgive this sandman guy? He caused the deaths and injuries for a bunch of new york's finest and tried to kill spidey then just say "I didn't want this" Yes you god damn did.

a) JJJ knew that MJ left his son to be with Peter? What happened with his son, didn't even try to get MJ back?

- perhaps it is what caused him to start taking the stress medicine? he decided to just drop it and down some pills.

b) Connors should at least make some kind of relation between the black goo, and the fact that Spider-Man turned black and more agressive.

- i've got nothing for this one. but in magical comicbook land, the heroes are never discovered.

c) MJ knows that Norman Osborn was the Green Goblin?

- she didn't know about the new goblin being harry until he attacked her... and then she was a little preoccupied with the whole threatening thing... i'm sure thats when she found out though. why is this flawed? the only other confrontation she had with him after that was the battle royale, and the sight of him dying probably kept her a little busy.

d) Why did Bernard wait so long to tell Harry about something he knew about Norman's death? What does HE know? Yes, it was his glider, but so what? There's something here I don't understand.

- Bernard probably didn't know that Peter was Spider-Man or the whole Two Goblins until the mansion got trashed. Once there were glider pieces and pumpkin bombs all over the place, he drew his conclusions. At the time, all Bernard knew was that there was a long piercing hole through him. Who knows, he might have even thought the Goblin did it... not knowing it was Norman.

e) In the first movie, why didn't the burglar said something like "I didn't kill him" or whatever?

- He stole money and was fleeing for that as well.

f) Connors isn't a biologist?? WTF?

- i don't see how that flaws a movie.

g) How does Venom knows about Sandman's daughter? As far as I know, Spider-Man didn't know about that, so why the symbiote should?

- could it have been printed in the bugle? possibly. or perhaps eddie brock did some research before confronting flint.... that way he could easily persuade him to join him.

h) What happens after Venom's transformation? He knows Peter is up there in the bell tower... Peter is perhaps naked up there... where does Venom go? Where does Peter go? MAJOR PLOT HOLE in my opinion

- i'm sure eddie brock was a little busy learning how to use his powers and trying to figure out what the hell was going on. the symbiote doesn't completely take over at first touch, so eddie brock, although saying he wanted peter dead, probably was still a little on the pansy side at the time.

i) Flint Marko turning into sand... except for the daughter's chain

- Raimi always has to do some symbolic thing like that. Two proposals...
1) what if it was made out of some metal/material that stopped it from turning into sand.
2) what if it was easier for the locket to turn solid since it was smaller, so in the first scene, it reforms before sandman does.... also, the only other time it is seen with sandman is after sandman has already formed back.

Captain Stacy said something to the extent of 'shut down the power for this block,' so it's safe to assume that the crane would stop once the power stopped. But yes, I do agree it should have been clearer.

Your point? He could say it was meant to be Eddie Van Halen for all we care, because in the movie it wasn't ever said that his name is 'Eddie Brock,' all we know is that the character's name is Eddie.

why? Spider-man has always drawn a negative image in the press, why would he think Spider-man is more aggressive. How would he make the connection between black clothes and the alien goo?

Um, yeah I think she probably figured that out.

"I've seen things in this house I've not spoken of.....I know you're trying to defend your father's honor". i.e. your father was a crazy SOB, and I didn't want to ruin your image of him.

Because they were working together, and he had no idea if Marko was caught as he just took off.

Yes, established in 2nd movie. Biologist don't teach cirtuit theory, "When Tau equals zero the eigenvalues are?"

It's more important to establish that Peter is a physics expert, when he is talking with Octavious, than it is to establish anything with Lizzard, who may never appear on screen.

g) How does Venom knows about Sandman's daughter? As far as I know, Spider-Man didn't know about that, so why the symbiote should?

Brock that knew that, or studied up for his revenge plot. There's nothing established in the movie that the symbiote is sentient, only that it amplifies agression and is a parasite.

Much more believable in parasitic alien life rather than some sentient being that's existed for millennia. That's why there's no "We are Venom!"

Peter goes home and takes a shower, Venom goes and captures Mary Jane. Pretty well established that Brock wants to humiliate Peter, and not simply kill him.

Actually I don't let plotholes bother my enjoyment of a film because I know every film, every piece of literature, has some sort of hole within it's logic because we as people arn't perfect and hardly anyone can be Shakespeare and write the 'perfect, flawless story,' particularly when you're dealing with a comic book film where plotholes are much more easily created due ot the nature of comic books.

So no, I don't do it. I may notice a plothole but it doesn't ruin the film for me. The only time a plothole can ruin a story for me is if the plothole is so big and so glaring, such as if Spider-man got a black suit without any explanation. That kind of plothole annoys me. Not one such as 'Did Peter Parker swing home naked?' Which isn't even a plothole, it's just you as a person not liking the image of him swinging home naked.

Is it hard to imagine that the characters in the movie are human and therefore can crawl into a window holding the glider like just about any burgler on the planet?

Do you remember the scene with Sandman? He was able to fit into the window there... Why couldn't Harry fit in and then hide for MJ to get home? Seems kind of silly ot believe that MJ is the only woman on the planet with windows that people can't fit through, especially when they have the ability to fly.
